We had a major carrier that was good for the vehicles...but told us that content only applied under Fire or Lightening, Nothing else...but yes, it helps!Re: Flood Results...Done?Boonhauler... Let me explain for you, lol! We happened to be 9 hrs away in a cabin with my son and his family. We received a call at 6:30 am telling us that water was getting into our homes. By the time we drove back home, the water got to 39.5 inches in the house. Our van had water up almost to the steering wheel. My son had water in the door cupholder in his Ford. But thanks for trying to understand we just didn't sit there watching our life's collection, float away. The flood got out of the banks at 3:00 am and was in the houses by 6:30 am. First vacation my son had been on in 6 years, lol! To all the fellow RVers...head on out and see something for us! PS...my wife volunteered at several State and National Parks as well as the Army Corp Parks. Loved it!Flood Results...Done?Well, we just suffered through a Flood here in East Texas! The end results from our flood is that I guess we are done being Full Timers! Six years of traveling and seeing America...absolutely awsome! We RVed many years prior to, and camped many more years before that... We suffered through a Flood and as a result, our Flagstaff 5th wheel, my F250 SD, MDWs Van, my son's truck, and their house...ALL totaled. My wife has decided it's time for another home in town. We should close in about 10 days... Just wanted to say this is a great board and your help at times, great! Travel far, enjoy the scenery's and live life to its fullest! Take care!Re: Flood Damage QueryHey Happy...thanks for the reminder ...but I would never use a message board as my sole advice source, lol! Believe it or not, our Insurance Company told us they weren't sure what the SOP was for RVs... Told us we could get an RV Tech to submit an estimate to them and they would accept it. That is why I am soliciting advice or options from others ...to make sure nothing falls in the cracks.Re: Flood Damage QueryThanks for all the responses with words of wisdom, lol! We are in Eastern Texas, on the Mud Creek... We have an RV Tech coming out in a day or so, to drop part of the underbelly and determine an estimate of repair for the Insurance Company. I will know our course of action after his visit. We are staying with our daughter until we have the tech inspect, and our water well repaired. Thanks again for any and all suggestions!Re: Flood Damage QueryNot sure about the fire/flood clean up companies... I know the Insurance companies deal with autos but not sure about RV technology!Re: Flood Damage QueryThanks...the water did in fact get into both vehicles...just not sure about our RV.Flood Damage QueryGreetings! We had a call that our van, Ford f250 SD, and 2011 flagstaff fifth wheel were flooded. The water got into the basement alittle, and the underbelly is saturated. Where do we begin? Called our Insurance agent and now wonder what we will need to do next. What all should we be concerned about under the floor of the RV? Can this effect the integrity of the flooring? (Vaccum floor system). Water in the heat ducting? Any electrical issues that we should make sure that gets inspected? We are full timers (100% disabled veteran)... I would appreciate any constructive thoughts, or words of wisdom on this issue! Thanks in advance!Re: 2005 F 250 Super Duty Question...Long RambleI would like to take a moment to say Thanks for all of you that sent me pertinent information to the original posting... All the information is helping educate me on the diesel experience, lol! I have had this 6.0 for some time and It has been a great workhorse for us! When I had my truck in the shop, they're were several New Dodge Diesels, as well as a couple Fords being repaired. Again, thanks for your help and willingness to share time and knowledge!Re: generator needed but what size and kindOther than weight and ease of handling ...what is the benefit of running two 2,000s as compared to one larger generator? Won't you have two gennies burning fuel compared to one, the two engines making noise compared to one... My DW has told me she wants to dry camp more so this is an issue I am just starting to look at also! Thanks!
