One caution though...don't use acetone to clean stains or caulk. It'll take the paint off. We also Had a class C with fiberglass and had no problems. If properly maintained, both are fine.Re: National Park Closures due to ShutdownIs 3 deaths the same, higher, or lower amount than usual for this time frame? The report I read said a 14yo fell from a 700' cliff, a man slid down a stone slope, and most sad,a tree fell on a woman. The report doesn't mention if having the parks staffed would have prevented any of these(possibly the first 2 were 'out of bounds'?). Based on the other issues, it certainly makes sense to just close the parks...clearly we as a society can't be trusted to act responsibly. They should have known.Re: the big problem with Gap Insurance !Given the immediate depreciation of an RV, I would think that all banks would require gap insurance on any purchase that isn't at least 20% down. It's hard to imagine the bank not insisting on enough insurance to cover the amount of the loan, at a minimum.Re: Camper truck & travel trailer bikendan wrote: drsteve wrote: Michealbraunstein wrote: What are the differences between a truck camper and a travel trailer? Is this a trick question? The OP is a new member and appears to own a TT. Maybe has never seen a truck camper. This is the Beginner forum after all.Re: Over or Under?Bidet...isn't that what the hose that came with the toilet is for? As for the age old question of over vs under...have you ever seen a fishing reel spooled from the bottom? Or a hose reel? Or the brown paper they give you when you buy steamed crabs (for those of us near the Chesapeake)?Re: Put antifreeze in black and grey after winterizing ?If you're not going to pour antifreeze down all drains, make sure you run enough pink thru to fill the traps with antifreeze.Re: Anyone know who could move a large park model from WI to AZ?You might try calling a construction trailer rental company.Re: Should I? so confused and overwhelmed.I'd consider a pop-up. Plenty of room for sleeping 4 of you. Very easy to tow, especially if you don't have prior experience. More of a camping experience than an RV experience though, but young kids won't mind. It's all an adventure for them.Re: Dumping wasteBipeflier, I think jplante4 interpreted the OP's post the way I did ( and the OP later clarified). Are you always this bitter, or are you just having a bad day?Re: Leveling chocksWe've been using the red Andersen levelers for years... first with our class C, now with our TT. Never had any issues, other than soft ground once. Also carry 2 pieces of 2 x 6 that are 4.5' long. This gives us another three inches and helps on the rare occasion when we're on grass and need to spread the load a bit. The boards are sized so both axles fit within the 4.5' legnth. We always chock the wheels on the other(high) side and use BAL expanding chock between the wheels that are on the levelers. All very stable and never had any issues.
