Mine did the same on the extreme sun side. It's partially my fault for not keeping them treated but as CO said the OEM seals are junk.Replaced all of mine this year and will keep them treated since the cost with wiper and "D" seal was $6 a foot.236Views0likes0CommentsRe: Maintenance hint
That's why one should always check their u-bolts for tightness. If they get loose that puts undue stress on the center bolt. I've seen it quite often on heavy trucks. One quick way to check them is take a hammer and rap the u-bolt. If it's loose you can tell by the dull tone or any movement.348Views0likes0CommentsRe: Grease seals/ Axle issues
rjsurfer,You can take the cheap Chinese seals to a bearing distributor such as Motion Industries and they can measure it and get you a SKF or National seal. Possibly the seals are not fitting the axle stub firm enough thus the leak. As with all things, the sun takes it's toll. I had to replace my wipers and seals after 6 years but I spend 5 to 6 months a year with my slides open and I was lax about seal maintanance.Replacement cost for seals and wipers ran about $6 a ft so from here on out I'll take better care of them.
