I have heard other stories about a rest area where someone got in to rob and the man of the Rv got outside and hid under the Motorhome...while his wife was killed inside.. You cannot be 100% safe anywhere... But I will be carrying a small gun or stun gun when we go again.. and I told my wife do not open the door if I am outside with someone demanding she open the door...Re: how serious is screw hole in exterior of new motorhome Bumpyroad wrote: patch it and slap a reflector over it. bumpy That's what I do with every little dent , a Good Sam sticker fixes my motor home and after a few days I don't even remember why I put the sticker on, I also use reflectors if it's where it looks rightRe: Campground Hosting Rules Dog Folks wrote: noplace2 wrote: royl wrote: most full timers have pets. And you know this, how? From RIVA Survey: "RV owners appreciate the control that RVs offer in today's travel climate. Unlike air travelers, RVers can bring anything they want onboard, including pets. According to the survey, 57 percent of RV owners bring pets along on trips." Sounds like "most" to me. My hubby is retired LEO, 30 years...and it is hard to leave that in the past. We volunteed and workcamped for our 9 years of fulltiming. At the end....we were trying to figure out how to have a campground with no campers :) Haa! I read that last line to my DW and we both had a good laugh. But in reality, the campers were fun to interact with since my experience was with the public in my working years. And it was pure pleasure experiencing the "Southern Hospitality" of the area. It's hard to put down the CFRs in my head and act normal, but I doubt that will every dissolve. The idea was to save $ this summer to help supplement our rent through the winters and enjoy some new culture and scenery near the water. (addicted to fishing). I think next summer we will be looking into something similar in Arkansas around Greer's Ferry. We have grandkids in Bentonville, Ar., so that will be an added bonus to the trip. I suppose I won't really be retired until I quit working completely and get serious about chasing fish. Yes,For sure Check out the CEO campgrounds around Rogers, AR (next door to Bentonville). We live within a mile of Greers Ferry Lake and it is quite a drive to Rogers Bentonville area, We never camp on Greers Ferry, we go to Rogers, AR area to site see and check out the craft shows and other things. I guess we just don't like camping in our back yard, plus the trip is half the fun, the reason we bought a motor home in place of trailer. but like I said it is a long drive to Rogers area and they have a lot of good campgrounds to camp in.Re: Anyone Bought RV/Camping Supplies At A Rummage Sale ?Farm and small Auctions are another good place to find bargains ,I have 4 coleman lantrens, 3 from yard sales, I found fuel for them 2 weeks ago at auction for $2.00 for 3 gal. it's $8.95 gal at Wal-mart. I bought a flatbottom boat, motor and trailer 3 months ago,at a bargain and another at auction 2 weeks ago for $725.00 that looked better, so I will keep it and sell the first one for profit. Tomorrow is another auction, can't wait, if the money holds out, I am going broke with all the things that I find so cheap.:DRe: What did you do to your Class A MH today???Thought about ordering a new spring for my jack.:R
