It was specifically selected as it was advertised as "bondable". After a long delay, I finally got around to that project after the window to return it had expired. Before installing it, I chose to run some electrical tests to confirm the operation. The AC voltage line to neutral was a solid 120 volts and it handled an electric space heater quite well. However, I also measured the voltages from line to ground and neutral to ground and both read equal (but reduced) voltages! I suspect that they push the positive going half AC cycle out one lead and the negative going out half AC cycle out the other lead rather that a true full sine wave cycle out the line lead. The only way that I would consider bonding the neutral to the ground with this inverter would be to run the power through an isolation transformer which could cost nearly as much as the inverter itself. Another project on the shelf to get back to "someday". You described just what was happening, plus I was getting shocked when I touched the breaker that had the AC in line attached to. So, thinking that it was not grounded correctly, I attempted to ground the AC out to the negative side of the battery, well guess what happen, smoked the inverter...Re: HELP!!!!!! with last step of inverter installThank you everyone that replied. If you have a breaker panel in your RV, you have a sub panel by definition. I have a 2000 watt inverter and don't see the need to feed a subpanel from it. It only feeds one circuit. I'll be feeding 4 circuits, so as to keep different items operational plus need to be able to use for a cpap, again, no A/C, hot water heater, converter/Battery Charger. So sub panel is NOT to be bonded. As for the Temperature, I don't have a gauge for the exhaust, am depending on Silverleaf for that, but won't be a issue to have it checked either, As you gave me a starting place. As you can see from the error codes, they were/are all over the place, thus they were/are no help other then telling me SOMETHING is wrong somewhere, again, thanks for your help.Re: Strange Error codes from my Cat C-6 via Silver LeafThanks Wolfe, wanted you to respond. As u said, I may have something set wrong on Silverleaf. But always had the low temps in the exhaust, even before the upgrade. So, yes will contact Silverleaf regarding the settings. When I saw the temp reach 150, I pulled over, pulled the fan plug, and it cooled right back down. As far as the panel issue, it was necessary to find another circuit for my dash A/C, then while on the road, the 1 time this summer that I needed the A/C, no power, checked the hot lead, and no power, placed in a new circuit, worked, but fan had only 1 speed. I then lost my Back-up Cam, again, same issue, but taking the Cam off the fuse panel it worked with no problem. I did notice, and checked at different fuses, at the Service Batteries and power points at the front of the rig that the panel was showing 18 volts, but the Batteries when the rig was running was putting out 14+/- volts. And had a completely different Issue with the house batteries, as they were also putting out 14+/- volts, but up front at the control panel, it was only showing 13.2+/- with a fast discharge rate (within 2 hours). So, I'm not sure just what is going on.Strange Error codes from my Cat C-6 via Silver LeafI received the following error codes via Silver Leaf after upgrading to ver 2(or whatever it is, but not the newest update). But in realtime, I found that I was losing power to different circuits on the fuse panel under the dash. I have a 98 Dutchstar sitting on a F/L with a C-6 cat pusher. My thinking is either I have settings wrong on Silverlear, or a Electronic Component is/or has gone out. The one other thing I noticed was that per Silverleaf my exhaust temp was way over where it normally stays (it ranges from 90 to 110, upto 120 on hard climbs ) but at 1 time I saw it reach 150 degrees. Once I unplugged the fan so that it would run all the time, it stayed in a somewhat normal range most the time. Prior to unplugging the fan, my Trans temp would stay around 200 degrees and the engine temp stayed around 180 or higher. I'm going to try to post the codes below n the order that I received them for others to review and let me know if they suspect the same thing as I do.
