Moosehead Lake
I want to head over to Moosehead Lake in Maine tomorrow from Mt Dessert Island in an attempt to get inland while the storm passes. Has anyone taken that trip? We’re in a 37 ft high profile 5th wheel and looking for the best route. Thanks Edit: Once we got to I-95, we headed north to Rt. 15. It runs with Rt 6 and is a nice country rd through some small towns. There are some decent rolling hills but nothing major. I use an app called “Hammer”. It’s like Google maps except for truckers. We don't camp year round, only a few times in the Summer/Fall. My rig has 4 six volt batteries. What does everyone do in the winter as far as the batteries? We've called them every week since April. Their excuses were the usual run-around; waiting for the factory; factory waiting for parts; manufacturer shipped wrong parts; someone out on vacation; blah blah blah. Not until we did the leg-work by calling the factory and even the parts manufacturer did any progress get made. The unit is all fixed except when they sent the part pre-painted they confused the color champagne for the color black. My experience: Voided warranty = no Increased mileage = not very noticeable either way and I really wasn't concerned since I run B-100 for the last 400k or so I did EFI Live because it enabled me to tune in a turbo brake on my 2006 and allowed us to avoid the dreaded sooted/clogged turbo that plagued the 2007.5 Cummins. Gonna be 9 years and they're still running strong and have good oil analysis from Blackstone. I travel from Southern NJ to Maine each year. On the way back I take I-84 east to Newburgh, NY and pick up I87 south. From there I go until 287 south in Jersey and it takes me to the NJTP. I've tried the Tappanzee and the roads were awful on that route.142Views0likes0Comments
