CapriRacer I must take exception to the info contained in the above reply: Everything your note warns about is covered in the recommended pressure figure given for the load/PSI in the Michelin charts. (crowned highways, side-to-side differences, etc., etc., etc) If you start putting out personal recommendations you are just negating the good information provided by these charts. 5% 'RESERVE', OK if it makes you feel better. DaCrema PERFECT ADVICE. Just can't figure out why more people don't do this very simple thing. By the way, that area of the Michelin website has a wealth of good general information on tires. Shame on every RVer if they don't read it. IMHO age restrictions at RV park are a stupid cop-out. The reason some parks have this restriction is because they have weak management of the park, so the owners say "don't take any RV over 10 years old" Smart ones go by condition rather than age. Sure wouldn't seem prudent to turn away a 25 year-old fully-restored airstream, yet let a 5 year old unit in with a couple of window units hanging on the side.588Views0likes0CommentsRe: Upgrading to 35 lb tanks- super quick.
First, you are talking about 20 lb (5 gallon) and 30 lb (7 gallon) cylinders. Most of the things you need to make it happen, in addition to the 30 lb. cylinders, themselves: Make sure there is no clearance problem that hinders installation of the taller cylinders. Probably longer lines leading from cylinder to regulator. You don't want these lines to be pulled tight. Longer all-thread center rod to hold them in place while you're traveling. A fiberglass cover for the taller cylinders. Otherwise, it is a very simple changeover.212Views0likes0Comments
