Do I want self-leveling or NON-self-leveling?Re: Roof Opinions PleaseI went out and cleaned the roof today, and it looks a little better. I have cleaned it at least twice a year with Camco Rubber Roof Cleaner/Conditioner and my soft RV wash brush. Maybe I cleaned it too much? Also, I think the cover (which is breathable) allowed mold or whatever to grow, and that's what wrecked the top white layer of the roof. What's remaining feels solid, but just looks bad. So, I think I'll lightly reapply the Dicor and roll on some Henry Tropi-Cool 100% Silicone coating. Does that sound like a good plan?Re: Roof Opinions PleaseI thought the roof was covered in a vinyl material. Whatever it is, I'm disappointed that it only lasts 6 years, covered, in a mild climate.Roof Opinions PleaseI just got my truck camper out of storage for 2 years, and the roof looks horrible. It was under a breathable cover, and I've always cleaned and conditioned it with Camco products. The camper is a 2017 model year Wolf Creek 840 that lives in California bay area good weather. The roof covering looks like its starting to break down, and it's covered in dark moldy looking spots. Is that normal? I hope it's not time to replace already! The dicor looks cracked, but seems pliable and solid. Is it time to reapply a little on top of the old? Does it need a complete remove and replace? Or does it look good for now? roof spots cracked dicor roof material breaking down thanks in advance for your informed opinions.Re: Broken Frame on a RAM 3500I'd rather over-truck than over-load.Re: New Silverado 4500 w/ TCUpdate: Despite the low frame height of the GM 4500/5500, the problem is that the frame to cab roof distance if much higher than a 3500. I don't have the exact measurements, but you can easily see this just by looking. So, your custom bed would probably have to be at lease 12 inches thick. This would enable you to have a nice storage area under there, but the overall rig would be very tall. And climb-in height would be terrible. So, I guess this is a not a great plan after all.Re: New Silverado 4500 w/ TCAccording to the GM Upfitter guide, the 4500-6500 4x2 has a loaded frame height of about 29+ inches. This doesn't account for any cross member or bed floor thickness though. The bed lift-in height of a 2020 3500 is around 39" unloaded- probably about 36" loaded. So, it sounds like the 4500 is close or even shorter depending on how thick your custom bed floor is. A Host Yukon is 118" tall. So, that large camper on a 4500 would still be under or close to 13' tall in total. That doesn't seem too bad unless my math is off or I'm forgetting something. sources: GM Medium Duty Upfitter Guide 2020 3500 Press Release Host Yukon specsRe: New Silverado 4500 w/ TC wintersun wrote: GM is supplying these to manufacturers including Coachmen for their Class C motorhomes. Great to have a 20,000 lb GCWR. Finally! I can't wait to see something other than a Ford chassis. Both my father and grandfather have driven Chevy as long as Chevy has existed. I'm not about to change that now.Re: New Silverado 4500 w/ TC NRALIFR wrote: Bed to cab height is the critical dimension with a TC. These at least look like they might be better than the Kodak trucks were. The Kodiak cab was so tall that you needed a platform to set the TC on in order for it to clear the cab. Then the overall height was very tall, and the combination just didn’t look that great. These new trucks look like they have a “normal” cab, although the bed height may be higher than a light duty pickup. :):) I figure the custom utility bed that would be required could make up for any height difference to get good cab clearance. And yes, they are definitely taller. But surely it's not taller than some of the giant class A and those Freightliner class C rigs. It looks like the 2wd trucks are lower, so maybe that will make it manageable. Of course, once it's all bolted together, I wouldn't ever take it off.Re: New Silverado 4500 w/ TCNRALIFR - yes, those.
