Tom&Dee wrote: That is why everyone should do a light check and a walk around EVERY TIME you hook up to a trailer. I learned to do that when I drove semis for a living. This^. Light check before ever moving down the road. Must've learned it from my parents.Re: Anyone sorry they bought an RV?Ours sat in California for the last six years because we had no way to bring it when we moved to Texas. Finally had my parents halfway between us( now in Oklahoma) in June. They full time, so I asked and my father went back picked it up , and brought it to NM. Loaded the DW, dogs, and gear and hit the road early on a Friday morning. Spent 2 nights with my folks then took the long road home on Sunday. It was a whirlwind weekend, but worth it. We've now spent 3 weekends in it this year. I generally work 6 day weeks, so having the ability to get away occasionally is priceless.Re: Just got a TT, overwhelmed by what I need to fill it :) campigloo wrote: Got beer? The rest will take care of itself. My thoughts exactly. I doubt we will ever have everything we might need, but there will always be beer.Re: Big weekend.. Where ya goin?Kaw lake in Ponca City, Ok.. Don't have the luxury of going whenever we want. After working at least a half day tomorrow we will be on the road.Re: New to TT looking for opinions on setupTongue weight of the trailer is added to cargo and people in the Truck. With 1200lbs minimum of gear and people, you add 900lbs tongue weight. Now you have 2100 lbs with a payload of 1380lbs. If those are the numbers, you will be out of payload with just cargo, people, and the weight of the hitch, before you even hook up the trailer.Re: Minnie Winnie TowablesLooked at that unit with the DW on Saturday. I liked it, she didn't like the raised slide, 2 steps instead of 3, and the massive wasted space in the bathroom. The outdoor Kitchen is super nice. If it had a floor flush slide we would seriously consider it.Re: New to TT looking for opinions on setupOk. Your payload is maximum 1380lbs. Assuming max hitch weight of 15% = 900lbs, you limit your cargo and people in the TV to 480lbs. Max tow is 7700lbs. At the 80% rule the trailer GVWR should be 6160lbs. These are estimates based on available info. Can you get the actual payload off the yellow sticker inside the drivers door on the Caddy, and how many people and weights will be riding?Re: New to TT looking for opinions on setupNeed a little more info. What is the payload of the Caddy and GVWR of the Kodiak?Re: Should I get new springs?Weird. I just traded an '03 4runner limited V-8 with 100k for a Tundra. Please tell me your runner is not that goldfish color.Re: BIG changes...Stay strong and live the life you were born to live.
