I think the next thing I will get is either one of the brand new super like cab over campers make for the light weight trucks (since my bed is so short and axle is so far forward) or just give in a get a bumper pull again. I am still looking at replacing the shocks because I think it needs to be done. Re: Front end bounces horribly when going over 55 mph Thank you. I am definitely going to get the front end checked and look at the front and rear axle weight like Grit mentioned. Re: Front end bounces horribly when going over 55 mph I have considered just looking at replacing the front shocks in general. I am sure they haven't ever been replaced and the truck now has over 100,000 miles on it. Re: Front end bounces horribly when going over 55 mph My truck hasn't bounced at all except with this camper. I had a 25ft bumper pull camper that weighed 4890 LBS dry and it pulled with no issues with sway bars. I've also pulled a u-haul trailer with no bouncing. I think the weight distribution might be the problem. I'm not sure what you mean by the concrete panels comment? Re: Front end bounces horribly when going over 55 mph The bounce was on multiple highways on the way home so asphalt and concrete here in Texas. I drove roughly 40 miles on mixed type roads. Highways, access roads, residential ect. The bouncing was only at 55 mph and over so I only felt it on the highway. I did also try to go faster and as I did it got worse so I had to slow way down to get it to stop. I am not sure if the camper is bouncing down in the back causing the front to lift. It's hard to tell while driving. Shocks on the truck front and back are stock from the factory so I am sure they aren't that great. Re: Front end bounces horribly when going over 55 mph I have mix use tires. Pathfinders AT. The suspensions is factory stock. Re: Front end bounces horribly when going over 55 mph This sounds right, so regardless of what I do there isn't really any way to fix it? I was afraid of it being that the axle was to far forward. I understand the weight displacement from driving forklifts. I can't move the weight forward any and with the bed I have the rear axles are almost a foot closer to the cab than other regular size 1500 trucks. Re: Front end bounces horribly when going over 55 mph The bouncing is definitely in the front suspension. It feel like I am hitting bumps but the road is even, the only way it goes away is to slow way down. Re: Front end bounces horribly when going over 55 mph Unfortunately the camper was completely empty and I had no gear, water or anything else in the camper or truck.😬 Re: Front end bounces horribly when going over 55 mph Doing some digging on the camper itself, the only model it could be with how small it is is the Sun Lite Eagle SB. The weight of that model shows 1090 LBS. With my payload capacity at 1595 LBS is this too heavy for my truck?
