Pull vehicle is a 2016 Explorer platinum 3.5 ecoboost. Just returned from a 5600 mile 5 week trip touching 13 states. Happy and safe travels!! Re: Here's a list of stand up hard sided campers under 1400lbs. My wife and I have a Venture VRB 190. It's 23'3" 3,800lbs dry. Our pull vehicle is a 2016 Ford Explorer platinum 3.5 ecoboost. We average 11mpg. Just got back from a long trip of 5,600 miles or so, hitting some of 13 states. I'm extremely pleased with both the travel trailer and car. I had the 3rd row seat removed and added the recommended brace. No problems on the 5 week odyssey. Re: Introduce Yourself! Thank y'all for serving!! Re: Finding insurance for potential camper purchase. Goodsam Re: Do NOT use Flex Seal on your camper roof! How about the Flex Seal tape? I carry some but haven't used it yet. Re: Introduce Yourself! Hi Herb, I'm Mike. I started in 1976 with a Honda 550, in 1978 I went with a Kawasaki 650. Long story short in 1987 I rode my brother's FXRT. In 1988 I bought a leftover 1986 Aspencade. Then I saw a 1976 Kawasaki 9oo and bought it too. My brother wanted a BMW so I bought his FXRT ans found I liked all 3 for different reasons. I crashed the Goldwing, sold the Kawasaki and rode the FXRT till it needed work but $ was tight. Parked for 13 years I'm having it fixed and it's for sale at 6k. Only 1250 made but we want some travel $ to fund us with our 20' travel trailer behind my 2016 Explorer. You are not an odd man out. Be safe, stay well brother. Re: Introduce Yourself! Thank you for serving. Re: Introduce Yourself! What do you ride? I don't ride much anymore but still have my 1983 FXRT, also called a Sport Glide. It's one of 1250 made. It's for sale for $6k. Need travel cash. Re: Introduce Yourself! Our thanks to you and your family for sacrifices in service to our nation. Blessings also get a thank you and a return blessing for y'all and your travels. Be well. FHL. Re: Introduce Yourself! Looks like you're a Marine, thank you for serving. Hope to make it to Texas early summer. My oldest son lives near Houston.
