In my internet search that is the tow capacity I am coming up with.Re: Which TVYes, the Dodge is a Hemi. I assumed since I see so many TT being pulled by f150's and 1500's that they would have a higher tow capacity. I was surprised to see it only rated for 7400#'s. So, in order to make an upgrade will I have to go to a f250/2500?Which TVI am currently using my 2005 dodge Durango to tow our 24 foot TT that weights about 4700 dw. Our Durango has plenty of power with a tow capacity of 8700 pounds but even with the weight distribution/sway control hitch feels like the trailer has control at times. I was looking a 2006 Silverado 1500 crew cab but only has a tow capacity of 7400 pounds. Would I gain that much more control with the silverado and would the tow capacity be enough or am I better off sticking with my Durango?Re: Just Purchased Fist TT alligato wrote: Thought they would be a link , sorry. No problem, copy and paste works. Thanks for the help.Re: Just Purchased Fist TTThanks for all the input, good info. Are mice really a problem when stored? Good 50-30Amp and 30- 20amp converters. dedicate a toolset to the rig, wrenches, channel locks, screwdriver, get a 30amp extension cord from camping world. I'd look through your house and retire some stuff to the new rig... Do a campout in the driveway or backyard.... just to get a prelim shakedown. more stuff will come to me later Driveway camp out! I like! The Amp stuff is over my head. Oh boy! Guess I will have to learn quick!Re: Just Purchased Fist TT jmcgsd wrote: Welcome! Make that first trip somewhere near home and shopping. No matter how carefully you plan, you'll probaBly find some stuff you need on that first trip. We just recently moved from our truck camper to a TT (again), made the first trip and wound up with 1 trip each to Walmart, Radio Shack and the RV store! What did you end up having to buy?Re: Just Purchased Fist TT colliehauler wrote: Congrats on the TT. Thank you. Looking forward to our first trip. This is something we wanted to do while our children were still at a young age.Re: Just Purchased Fist TT Merrykalia wrote: Take a trip to the Goodwill, Salvation Army and lots of yard sales to pick up kitchen items for your TT. You will need some airtight canisters so you can leave your food stuffs in there and not get mice. I also purchased some towels (white only so I can bleach them) that are for the RV ONLY. My sheets for the RV are also white for the same reason. We also put clothes in rubbermaid type tubs, each of us has a color. We have a coffee pot, electric griddle and crock pot that stays in the RV and come in really handy, especially the crock pot. Are mice really a problem?Just Purchased Fist TTWe just purchased our first TT, a Spree 240 BHS! My wife and kids are so excited they are already making plans for all our trips this summer! Now that we own one, what are some essential extras we need to look into purchasing?
