Industry has been boasting "solar ready" on many new RVs. Often this is nothing more than "solar prep" for the buyer to add Solar Later. Your MFG may have supplied something about this syamstem in the manuals, but they are often nonresponsive after the sale. I don't know about your set up, but I have found that usually service guys at Selling or Warranty Certified service providers fir that MFG are the better source that hut or miss inquiries. I just went through a very similar QUEST to get information on a Riverside RV mystery plug that was rumored to be a Solar hookup... and the mfg was nontesponsive and useless in helping me. I got my answers finally from service technicians at their warranty (selling) dealers. Re: Need plug identification on Retro 820R Yes it's 12v, and one rv dealer also believed it to be a solar plug with possibility of plugging in portable solar panel. The manufacturer (Riverside) has not responded to my numerous calls for help with this id, or, the specs or requirements of compatibility. Re: 2006 Norcold fridge Not sure if this applies to yours but here's what my mfg says about AC/Propane refrigerator issues. refrigerator operates on either 120-volt AC or propane gas and has a gravitybased cooling system. This system requires that the recreational vehicle be level for efficient operation. The cooling coils are sloped to allow continuous movement of the liquid chemicals and if the unit is not level for extended periods, the flow of these chemicals will slow and pool inside the tubing, resulting in a loss of cooling. During towing, the leveling is not as crucial as the movement of the trailer will prevent the liquid inside the tubing from pooling. If needing to park for several hours, the trailer should be leveled if operating the refrigerator or the refrigerator needs to be turned off. Placing a small bubble level inside of the refrigerator will assist in determining if level.
