I will go get my RV today and measure the bat bank at idle (pretty dead) and plugged in to see if there is a difference. Can't believe I have never done that since I just assumed what I stated in the original post. You know what they say about assuming............................. Re: Does my Converter charge my coach batteries? 1997 Rexhall Airbus Right, I did say that, but I"ve always used a battery charger to keep the bank of batteries charged, assuming that my older converter didn't do this. Didn't seem like it did when it was plugged in, but my bat bank is rather large and I might not have noticed???? I just thought older converters didn't charge the battery bank. Is the charger on the controller a trickle? I guess I could just measure the bank, and then measure it plugged in to see a rise? Does my Converter charge my coach batteries? 1997 Rexhall Airbus I have always thought that when I plug in my coach, that it doesn't then charge my batteries like on newer models. It certainly doesn't seem to charge, but because of my assumption, I haven't checked. Is someone familiar with this coach to inform me? Mounting into a Rexhall Steel Frame I have a 30' 1997 airbus and I'm going to mount a solar panel in the roof to trickle charge my battery bank. I know the Rexhall frames are steel, but does anyone have experience in mounting into them? I mainly want to know if I can just use a self tapping screw (tapcon), or is it pretty thick and I need to drill in and tap a hole? Do you think I could just use an expansion nut into and through the Fiberglass RV roof for the mounting of the panel? Any ideas on the easiest way to thread the wiring through the RV and down to the Battery area would be helpful too. Re: Simple Solar RV expertise needed Thanks for the info, Since my RV sits most of the time, will the batteries get overcharged and cooked out? or will the PWM stop delivering juice in sensing that the batteries are full? Simple Solar RV expertise needed I want to purchase a simple solar panel to keep my 4 golf cart 6v batteries up to charge when in storage. Any idea of what I would need? My RV sits most of the time and it's not near a plug to keep the batteries up to charge and I don't want them degrading. It also takes forever to charge them back up as it's a lot of storage. What about mounting it on my roof? A little concerned about problems with rain leakage. Would a simple $99 single panel 100w system work (that I saw at camping world)? 1997 Rexhall Airbus RX2900L (30'). Suggestions? jeff Re: Dometic Elite RM7732 Door latch wow, that's great!! I don't know anyone who would be able to do this, is there a service somewhere that I could send those plans to and have it made? jeff
