How many players do you generally have? There are tons of smaller, quick board games out there these days. Sushi GO is fun but a little complicated. Guillotine is a good game with a simple setup. Codenames is a fun one.
That's what I've found as well when it comes to boondocking. Simple enough to stop in, ask, and rollout if it's a no. Best luck I've had is the big box stores.
