Valley of Fire State Park - Atlatl Campground
We were there in March-April 2024 VERY CROWDED -- facilities were in deplorable shape, 3 showers worked, restrooms closed, drinking fountians dirty -- Expect full campgrounds, full parking lots! Some sites have Electricity and Water - there is a dump station but only one side of it was operational. IF you go, I suggest you enter from the Overton side, not the LV side. Traffic is a nightmare, long waits and even with reservations, no way to reach the entrance station. There is dry camping available near the East entrance to the park - Poverty Flats The other campground in Valley of Fire has no hookups - I suggest you check the road through it before you pull a trailer or large RV - very tight! FYI -- Are sites are not the same size. There are a few that can accommodate motorhomes or trailers up to 30ft, depending on how you park. Since our sits are set up for tent camping, you are parking in a little pull out along the road next to your site. Depending on which site you chose you might be able to fit next to only one, while at others you will have to take two sites. We also have overflow parking next to the bathrooms in A loop, so you could park the truck there while the trailer is only in one site. Also since we are first-come, first-serve we can guarantee you will find a site or two.
