All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Dexter EZ Lubes, use or not?I had them on my last trailer which I had for seven years. Once a year I would jack each wheel and pump the grease in until the old grease showed up coming out. As I was doing it I would turn the wheel. About four years after I had the trailer I had them professionally done and the mechanic said they were in perfect condition, and then I continued to use the fittings until I sold the trailer. For what it is worth, that trailer made a 15,000 mile round trip to Alaska and back in one year, and in the other years, it probably accrued 3,000 miles each year. Jack LRe: Waxing the TTMaintenance is the key; like in everything ! I do mine once a year and I wash and use a roof coating twice a year. My last trailer was seven years old when we sold it and it looked like new and every thing it was in perfect shape. The second person that looked at it bought it. Jack LRe: Second ac unitYou would need to have that custom done. If you ask for it from the factory, the second would be a unit all by itself with the controls built into the overhead unit and the air just coming out of it. We just ordered and got a 37 footer with the second one as I describe above. Jack LRe: Flex Seal, Flex Tape and Flex Glue...I wasted my money on flex seal trying to seal a leak between two seams. The very next rain storm the seam leaked as bad as before I used it. Jack LUsing a drill to raise our pop up top questionHas any one made a fitting that will fit a battery operated drill that will take the place of the hand operated crank. I am thinking of making one ,but I don't know if the drill will have enough torque. Jack LRe: Newbie question about warrantee work. What the above posts say, but keep in mind that there are RV techs. all over the place, and usually their rates are lower than the RV dealers, and they are more knowlegeble and reliable. Jack LRe: The future ..down the road ????I agree completely, but we solved that problem and bought our own Rv site in our favorite park. Jack LRe: Where should you dewinterize?I always do it at the first camp ground I go to. When we get there I just change the water heater by pass valves, hook up to city water and turn it on. I leave the cold faucets closed and all the hot ones open. When the water heater tank is full, and the water runs clear out of the hot water faucets, I close them and open the colds one at a time until each runs clear, (it only takes a few seconds). then I flush the toilet. We never use the fresh water tank and we drink bottled spring water. This has worked for us for the past thirty years jack LRe: Trouble unhookingSame thing happened to me and then I found the solution. Just take the pin out of the hitch before you start raising the tongue jack. That releases the pressure, and allows the hitch to move that fraction of an inch needed and the ball will come right off as you raise it. Try it. You'll be quite surprised Jack LRe: Grey water pipe and fittingThe gray with "bell mouths" is probably just electrical conduit. You can get it at any Lowes, and they have all the fittings jack L
