I think the only 17" that is close to the same diameter is the LT245/70R17 at 30.6 verses the LT245/75R16 at 30.5. I nice set of LT265/75R16 at 31.7 on some 8 inch wide rims would look good if you can fit them under the wheel wells. Will effect gearing slightly. BFG has a LT265/70R16D that is 30.7 inches in diameter and rated to 2835@65. 10.6" wide on 8" rims. http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/tire-selector/name/all-terrain-t-a-ko-tires Here is another choice. http://us.coopertire.com/Tires/Light-Truck/DISCOVERER-A-T3.aspx Look at the LT265/70R16E rated to 3195, diameter is 30.63". 10.91 wide on 8" rims. Little or no effect on gears. Also the Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor(On-/Off-Road All-Terrain) comes in a LT265/70R16E rated to 3195. Similar 30.6 and width as the Cooper. In Washington State they register tonnage. They take the tare weight times 1.5 and round up to the next higher even K. One can register more, however not less than the formula. My 2500 truck with 8800 GVWR is registered at 12k based on the formula. Based on ferderal bridge weight formulas and registered weights the truck can legally haul a lot more than Dodge warrantied it to be able to haul. The RV.NET weight police need an extended vacation.
