I have owned a 24' C and prefer the A...... hands down much more room, no ducking or crouching. I do miss having a drivers door, but I have gotten used to it.Re: Buying a used Fleetwood Flair 22' .....NADA ...low?Here is some eye candy...a pic behind our house there along the river: Re: Buying a used Fleetwood Flair 22' .....NADA ...low?draboo, I wa already thinking of getting a spare carrier bearing and taking it with me on trips. When those go they don't seem to give a lot of warning.A water pump w/belts might not be a bad idea either. I hate towing trailers, so I built my own custom hitch hauler for my bikes: Re: Buying a used Fleetwood Flair 22' .....NADA ...low?Back home in TN....flawless trip both ways(never even had the usual headwinds and very little cross winds). I did have one casualty, the dealership winterized it for me before I picked it up. I never checked the separate water filter under the sink that has it's own spigot....yep, the filter froze solid and broke off at the threads. It's a small Culligan, so it is really no biggie to replace. Low was -17F....brrrrrr The old big Tv was rattling around in it's overhead compartment on the crappy canadian roads, it was not even bolted down so I took it out and pitched it along with the VCR. A flat screen & DVD player will go in now. Here are the down and dirty pic's after arrival in Manitoba. Temps the whole trip up were right at freezing and it drizzled for 1300 miles. I washed it when I arrived and will do a thorough washing here today...it's 55 degrees. Re: Chassis batteries needed charging. Thanks for the info on the Trik L Start....I just ordered one from rvupgradestore for $35.75 shipped.......;)Re: Buying a used Fleetwood Flair 22' .....NADA ...low? Dachristianman wrote: Wanda....what the motorhome does when tracking down the highway? :-) Oops right, I did forget to update that. Since I fixed the airbag leak, put in proper tire pressure, and put in new bushings, it goes down the road like it is on a rail. I can one hand steer it even when overtaking or being overtaken by 18 wheelers. As far as the overall ride, we like it. Up front in the cockpit, I would say my Class C was smoother and quieter, but it is tolarble. In the back bedroom, my wife says the ride is the perfect, no bouncing or yaw at all. I am getting used to driving the fishbowl and I really like the visibility and the height...no way would I go back to a C.Re: Buying a used Fleetwood Flair 22' .....NADA ...low?Arrived in Manitoba last night. The Flair ran like a top....no issues. Average mpg in the hills was 8.5, once in the prarie we averaged 9.5. Less than a quart of oil burned in 2,000 miles. Airbags are holding pressure. MERRY Christmas!Re: Buying a used Fleetwood Flair 22' .....NADA ...low?Mike it was the tires. I do have 60lbs in the air bags now and they seem to be holding. So how does the air tube and fitting attach to the bottom of the bag? J&J the tires are Bridgestone and mfg Nov of 2010...good even tread all the way around. I do need to jump on a scale...maybe some time on this trip. FalconB, yes I can already tell Xwinds are going to be fun. We always seem to hit a head wind west of Minneapolis into Fargo, then X winds after we turn North to the Canada line. Sometime they are pretty substantial, especially this time of year preceding a big front. The worst part about the wander & winds is it sure makes it hard to sleep while driving ;) Launch time is set for 0300 hrs....the girls are packing 'Wanda L" as I type. Speaking of Wanda, this is the name hand painted on the sides of the Flair. We have decided to keep the name...I kinda like it. We're speculating on why it says "Wanda L..." soooooo what are the three dots for? I say it's Wanda Luv............. Re: Buying a used Fleetwood Flair 22' .....NADA ...low?Gjac, the "chit" is definitely coming from the A/C compressor...manifold is quiet for now. J&J I did hit every zerk I could find, even on the driveshaft. I noticed it has a carrier bearing, do those give trouble like the one in my '72 Chevy pick-up?Re: Buying a used Fleetwood Flair 22' .....NADA ...low?All good advice..thanks. I installed 4 new poly Moog Sway bar bushings. Sway Bar is 32mm...pretty heavy duty. I was under there I found that it has a Safe T Plus steering dampener. It looks as old as the coach so I don't know if it is functioning properly. Also found I had 45 lbs in the left front and 60 in the RF....they all have 70 now or should I bump them to the max of 80?. Air bags are holding pressure..at least at rest, so I will find out if the hold on the road tomorrow. LF stabilizing jack does not retract quite ll the way, then after a hour or so it drooped down another quarter inch. Since I won't be using them on this trip, I am going to wire it up so it can't drop down by accident. Cleaned the inside up a bit, and transferred all our 'stuff' from the Class B. Heading NB in the wee AM.
