We then drove on west to the Pacific coast to complete our "sea to shining sea adventure." It took us 10 driving days to cover 3121 miles. For the Nevada portion we camped in Ely and Carson City.Re: ree drumond, pawhuska Ok,place to campWhile in the area also check out Woolaroc which is an Indian art and Phillips 66 oil co museum near Bartlesville.Re: ree drumond, pawhuska Ok,place to campIn that area we camped at the Twin Points COE campground on Skiatook Reservoir just south of Pawhuska a little bit.Re: Payload AdviceI purchased our camper for a short bed F-350. I added a sway bar, super springs, and stable loads. I tried for 4 months to get a set of Rickson steel 19.5" wheels. We had trips planned and no delivery date for those wheels so I found this F-450 on a local dealers lot with less than 40,000 miles and couldn't be happier. I now have all the load capacity I need, an 18" extra storage space between the front of the camper and the cab of the truck, much tighter turning radius plus 19.5" wheels. The only downside was it cost a fortune to put on a full set of new tires but I was going to have to do that anyway with the F-350.Re: Payload Advice I’m pretty sure no shortbed campers are made that it won’t carry. They just aren’t that huge. My short bed camper with three slides is huge-ish.Re: Lock for fast gunsI agree with Bedlam and will add that my old fingers had difficulty with the some of the lynch pins.Re: Great River RoadLast summer we did the great river road from Louisiana, MO up river to the source at lake Itasca. Now this spring we will go back to Louisiana, MO and turn south where we will follow the Mississippi all the way to it's delta south of New Orleans. We have driven the whole Skyline drive and Blue Ridge Parkway, the Natchez Trace, the Oregon Trail, the Lewis and Clark expedition at least to Three Forks, MT where the Missouri River starts. These have all been great adventures.Re: Quiet Back Roads and a Truck CamperThis past summer we drove US highway 50 from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. It begins in Ocean City, MD and ends in Sacramento, CA but we went on to Bodega Bay on the waters edge. US 50 does go through downtown DC along the National Mall but 90% is rural 2 lane, small towns, rural pleasant driving and our goal was to enjoy the sea to shining sea trip.Re: Buffalo, NY to Seattle and back suggestionsBarabooBob has the right route for the trip from Buffalo to Medora, ND. Still, it is a 1500 mile trip and for a 50 mph average RV speed that is 30 hours of driving. We have found in our 20 years in an RV that with stops for fuel, food, stretch breaks, and then slow downs for road construction and traffic jams 50 mph is a good overall average. In Medora we stayed at the Medora Campground and it was very nice. From there we took a day trip to the northern part of the TR national park for a drive through. Don't miss the Medora Musical outdoor theater show and the pitchfork steak fondue dinner just before the show.Re: AT&T FiberMy fiber line comes into the house to the router. The main TV with DVR is connected by Cat5, the other tvs, tablet, e-book, cellphone, printer, and home security system is connected by WiFi. My computer is connected by Ethernet cable and I have 500 Mb download speeds which is 50 times the DSL speed I used to have.
