Will be in the 50s again tomorrow during the day and 40s at night. We have thick sticky mud all over. In Quartzsite, 70s all week and cloudy with lows in the high 30s/low 40s/ per rvquartzsite.com at the bottom.Re: temp tonight in Q.I'm in Texas atm and the temps have been up and down for several weeks. We'll be warm for a few days then the wind picks up and blows in the cold. The last couple of days I have started out in layers in the morning and then strip down more and more all day until I am just legal. Now I'm in short sleeves, shorts, and Crocs but before I go to bed tonight I'll start donning more layers again for the morning freeze. Sheesh! Florida is looking awfully good right now.Re: Quartzsite Activities?Blythe is a great choice even if you are camping. I stayed there at Mayflower County Park for the last two winters with a great bunch of regular snowbirds. Not so much dust as in Quartzsite, grass, quiet, good stores and restaurants nearby, planned activities like ice cream socials, potlucks, and lawn bowling, right on the Colorado river, close enough to the state line to get cheaper gas at the Flying J, not far from Quartzsite, great Christmas parade, great Bluegrass Festival. Can't go this year but looking forward to getting back there when I can.Re: Far enough away.Sometimes I choose a site closer to others in a campground if it is really windy. I use them as a windbreaker. Not so much now that I have a bigger, heavier rig. I don't boondock yet but will be soon as I get my solar panels. I wouldn't care to be completely out of sight of others for safety reasons and in case something breaks but I would definitely ask others already there before I get too close.Re: propane costI hate flat rates. Shouldn't be allowed. What a scam!Re: Solar panels installed and why J-Rooster wrote: X-2, I've never seen a solar panel on a RV until, I boon docked at La Posa CG (BLM) on Hwy. #95 in Quartzsite, AZ. in 2010! There the most prepared, hi tech Rvers, I've ever seen, one coach had a 30' solar panel up on the roof! You got that right! Folks who boondock in and near Quartzsite every winter are hardcore solar enthusiasts and they take all their electronic toys and big TVs with them. See my album of pics I took of them. Hoping to join their ranks soon.Re: Quartzsite ParkingIf you're going to be around Feb. 14th - 16th, that's when the Desert Bloom ATV Rally is there. Here's some other events going on in Quartzsite Have fun! I know my sister and her husband always camp at La Posa South with an ATV. Imperial Sand Dunes is a pretty cool place to go too.Re: You MIGHT be an RV'r if . . . we_rv wrote: You study all the license plates on other RV's as you go down the road to see who else "lives" in South Dakota! :) OMG! I do that! I do that! I'm camped right next to another "South Dakotan" right now! I hope to be "home" soon. It is so embarrassing when someone asks me questions about my legal domicile and I have no clue. :W
