I'm currently using the Blue Ox due to our toy haulers heavy tongue weight.Re: Blue Ox Sway Pro BXW2000 - shank sizeTypically the 2 1/2" receivers have a higher weight rating than the 2" receivers, but some newer 2" receiver hitches also have high weight ratings. My SwayPro is scheduled to be delivered Monday. I'm hoping it has the 2 1/2" shank as my F350 has the 2 1/2" receiver. On my truck, using the reducer sleeve lowers the max tongue & tow weights by quite a bit. ** UPDATE ** My SwayPro BWX2000 came with the 2 1/2" shank.Re: Desert Fox 5th wheels....in the flesh. trail-explorer wrote: Next time I'm in LaGrande, I'm going to stop at that dealer and give them some photography lessons (on lighting, and using the flash). The photos taken out the back of the rig are hideous. They should have used the flash. Agreed. And probably not a good idea to have the guys in the pictures either.Re: Eternabond or Lap sealant ? scbwr wrote: I'd put some lap sealant on the holes and allow to dry. Then, top it off with Eternabond. You shouldn't have to worry about it for a long, long time! This is what I would do...Re: Nevada Hwy 93 Wells to Jackpot36+ miles north of Wells, just past mile marker 111 is Oneil Basin road. Its on the left/west side of the highway. There is room to overnight by the fence. The road is gravel, but is well maintained. Boies reservoir is 8 miles down the road and is a nice place to camp, and the fishing is normally pretty good too.Re: Towing in the Rocky MountainsI tow in the mountains, at altitude 80%+ of the time. In the past I once pushed the trailer weight close to max and while it was okay, it was not 'comfortable'. Going up hills at 40 mph (while most traffic was going 65+), going slow downhill to ensure I would have enough braking when needed... just not fun. Since then I've tried to stay within 75-80% of max and I like it much better.Re: Toy Hauler Member MapOn the map!Re: My dad thought he was a goner Krease wrote: I agree with everyone on the tongue weight. But one thing to think about... You said TV tires were at MAX psi. Why? set it to what the door jamb says, not the tire. Too much air in the tires will make it float a lot on the road. Aren't you supposed to inflate your tires based on the load?Re: California Campfire Permit Online dedmiston wrote: Y-Guy wrote: You can get your California Campfire Permit online watch a video and 8 questions. Please tell me that those videos are the YouTube Sobe videos!!! :B I've been checked twice, and was once reported for having an illegal campfire when we were just using a propane BBQ to grill some burgers. They do check, but there aren't many rangers to cover quite a bit of territory.Re: Dogs allowed Sugar Pine Point SP, Lake Tahoe? DAS26miles wrote: How hot is it in July at Tahoe? With no hookups and only our 2 fantastic fans to keep the MH cool, it may not be a good time to go. Highs should be in the 80's, lows in the 40's. If you have shade, you won't need a/c.
