We have a Wave 3 (vented correctly) with furnace as backup. We have the heat turned down 50 at night unless it gets to warm to sleep. Just spent New Years weekend up at Marry Jane. Pic is from last year at Crested Butte.Re: Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here Amazing week skiing at Crested Butte!!Re: Wave Heater InstallI installed Wave 3 in one of our lower storage doors. I removed the door, cut plywood the size of door, cut out size of Wave 3 to offset it back into door. Added wood lip above heater to make sure that the refrigerator above the heater would not get excess heat. Stained new door and added extra hinges and door lock. Added T into gas line with valve for heater. I have purchased the Wave 3 cover to keep dust off of it. I’ve added this for the ski season and will most likely take it out and put the original door back on for the summer.Re: Pop Up Soft Side Campers in the WinterWe have been able to winter camp very comfortably in our Hallmark. Here is some pics from staying at The Jane at WP. It’s awesome to head up the night before and not have to fight traffic in the morning. Just wake up in the morning, have coffee and warm breakfast, walk 10 feet, throw on skis and ski to the lift. The pooches love it up there! Re: Pop Up Soft Side Campers in the WinterI added foam insulation to places that did not have insulation. The horizontal and vertical side do not have insulation. Seat/bed area and bottom side storage. I also added insulation to the propane interior walls. Re: Hallmark Roof Leak Rubber Roof TPOWe bought our 2004 camper for cheap since part of the roof was bad. Ended up rebuilding a lot of it. Front corners were bad. Used table saw and router to remake frame perimeter because it was rotten. We ended up replacing all the inside ceiling panels. A lot of work, but worth it.Re: Hallmark Roof Leak Rubber Roof TPO I added brackets that tie back to the rack to help releave the stress of pulling down on aluminum edge. Also added another clamp hold down to the front to tie I front rack. This has helped greatly on stress causing caulk to crack.Re: Pop Up Soft Side Campers in the Winter csh_2088 wrote: Dvoigt17 wrote: The top photo makes me really want to buy a truck camper. A gorgeous photo! Could you tell me what is in the second photo? It looks like insulation but I am not sure where in the camper it comes from. It’s warm window material that we bought at Joan’s. I added it to the inside of our insulated soft wall. It snaps to the ceiling. Just an extra layer of insulation.Re: Pop Up Soft Side Campers in the WinterI added extra insulation throughout my entire Hallmark. I enjoy my wife coming up skiing with us, so she has to be warm. You know if mamma isn’t happy, no ones happy. I used my infared camera to scan all parts of the camper last winter and worked on insulating bad areas. We leave thevent open to help with moisture. I added insulation to the floor, between 2x4 that run length wise of camper and sealed with hard plastic sheets. I also added foam squares over the floor on inside of camper. This helped a lot. I pulled off the AC unit so I can store in garage and leave off . Which made it easier to seal the roof. I have corner supports that go on the inside off camper in case we get a lot of snow.Re: Pop Up Soft Side Campers in the WinterWe had a buddy heater as our backup heat last ski season. We ended up using it a couple time because of low batteries. It worked great! We used it on the stove top, but went through propane bottles fast, even on the low setting. We got a great deal on a wave 3 and wave 6 heater because of RV place closing. Wave 6 is a little to big for our truck camper, but will use it in our 5th wheel. So that is why we switched to the Wave 3 over our buddy heater. I have it set up so that we can remove the wave 3 easy and put on the standard cabinet door.
