My "bad"!Re: Hershey show observations thejsofa wrote: I visited the "B''s and smallest "C"'s only at the huge Hershey Pa. Rv show. I thought the Leisure Travel Vans Uniti series were exceptional. Pleasure Way and Roadtrek had lots to offer, with my nod to Pleasure Way. Winnebago had some 20-25' units, just awful, by comparison. Small"C"s liked the Phoenix Cruisers gave the B's a run for the money.A new small C company , Nexus, looked pretty good. Oddest unit was a Nissan Van with a pop top. It had seats everywhere, a cramped tiny galley, no water facilities of any kind, and 2 beds in the pop top. Maybe good for taking lots of scouts to the jamboree, but i could not figure its other uses. Great West Van was listed but was not there. Sportsmobile was not there Born Free was not there. There were some nice young couples looking at B's and eager to learn and compare. That was encouraging. Yeah, me and my $40,000 that I saved by buying a Winnebago ERA seem to be doing just FINE, Thank you!Re: Brought the Sea Breeze home...but have a questionYou will need to keep close track of the water level in the house batteries. The charging systems, especially on older motor homes tend to "boil" some of the water out of the house batteries due to over-charging them when plugged into 110V. It's pretty common to need to add water monthly if you are using the RV a lot or store it plugged into 110V. If you do not keep the batteries topped off and the internal battery plates begin to show, the battery will be toast in a short period of time!Re: Made a decision, now time to actFrom what I have seen on the various RV forums, you should still be able to get 25-28% off list price. This is typically only when you do not have a trade-in and is, without a doubt, the best way to buy a new unit. Trading in a unit will really cloud the actual price for the new RV and I suggest you sell your current Class C outright and deal with a purchase without the trade-in factor. I've read many situations where folks have suggested that a trade-in essentially figures out to be almost the same out of pocket price as you could have bought the new RV for without a trade-in. In outer words, you are almost giving the dealer the trade-in unit and paying about the same price as you could have bought the new RV for outright!! On the last two new motorhomes we bought we received a 26% discount on our 2005 Allegro Bus and 28% on our 2012 Winnebago ERA.Re: Winnebago ERA Bedding Solutions?I've spent the past couple of days pulling the folding couch out of my 2012 ERA. I built wood free standing ( did not want to "scar" the wall, floor or cabinets) frame with metal legs. I placed nice plywood "beds" on the wood frame and screwed them down. We bought 4" foam, 1" dense backpack sleeping pads, and a 3" memory foam topper all of which we will cut to fit my beds. We layered them together and my wife will make a nice quilted cover (either with a zipper or velcro opening. I also filled a portion ( same amount of space as was there when the couch was down) of the center section with the same thickness plywood and my wife will make a matching cushion for this area. We have not slept on the beds yet as I am installing the stained cherry wood matching trim. We now have a "ton" of room under the beds/center section for storage, a nice flat bed with 7" of firm padding. We always use the front seats turned around when lounging/watching TV so the folding couch was always kept down in the bed configuration. By making the bed unit free standing, we can return the van to it's original configuration when we trade/sell it or offer it as is (couch goes with van) with the buyer having the option to convert it back to oem configuration at a later date.Re: Overheating 2004 Tiffin allegro bus 36 OP cat. 3126 e 330 hpNot sure you've spent any time on the Tiffin net but it's a great place to learn and get answers on Tiffin coaches. Try it, you'll like it! http://www.tiffinrvnetwork.com/forum/Re: What should I buy??We have owned our 2012 170X ERA for about a year and a half and REALLY like it. We downsized from a Class A DP'er ( had 3 of them) and never looked back. We get 20mpg or so when traveling and the ERA has been trouble free. We bought ours new and paid just under $80K for it so I assume you'll need to increase your budget to buy a new one. The 2010 ERA was a totally different animal than the 2012 as it was built on a 250 chassis instead of the current 350 chassis. Also, the 2012 model has a totally new interior design/layout that is a much higher quality than the earlier model. If you could find a used 2012 it would be a lot closer to your budget than a new unit, however, that may be difficult as the ERA is becoming a very popular class B. Good luck, RonRe: New Sprinter Era ownerMany folks have commented on the fuel light coming on at about 20 gal of fuel used. The tank is 26 gal so it looks like there's plenty of "safety zone" fuel left in the tank when the light comes on. I believe your unit is normal with regard to the fuel light!Re: Full Body Paint, Worth It ??We've had 1 sticker adorned MH and 2 FBP and there is no comparison. FBP wins hands down!Re: Opinions on 2007 Holiday Rambler NavigatorHoliday Rambler was owned by Monaco which was a manufacturer of very fine MH's. We owned a Monaco Dynasty for several years and really enjoyed it, The Navigator is the HR top of the line unit and is a well equipped unit that will give you years of great service and fun traveling/camping! Good choice!!!!!
