It's been cold at night the last few nights. Supposed to warm up nicely today :) I missed the sun, it's been cloudy a lot lately.Re: 28-30ft fifth wheel boondock/campable in public lands? Acei wrote: I heard that most popular equipments in these places are truck campers and pop-up trailers. I'm sure this varies from places to places but in general, can I expect to find places to either camp or boondock in public lands if I bring a truck pulling a 28-30ft 5th wheels? Thanks much! you wouldn't have a problem in Quartzsite Arizona :) the majority I've seen are large rigs pulling cargo trailers, or large 5th wheels.Re: Rude campers to the extremeon the subject of dogs. we were at the sand dunes. so many loose dogs. A pile of pooh was on one of the cones of the campers down the road lol our neighbor's dog came over and left a pile by the campfire. We shooed him away. why they don't do their business at home is beyond me lolRe: (Yawn) Another day in QuartzsiteAnswering my own question :D this place is crawlin' with people camping out on Plomosa. HiJolly was full. We're closer to rv's than we were in January during the crowds lol will see what vendors (if any) are open tomorrow.Re: Have any of you traded in Class A Motorhomes for Toyhaulers? 1jeep wrote: my toy hauler is 38', 12 of it is garage, yes the actual living space is smaller than our previous 32' travel trailer. However we have a much bigger bedroom and use the garage for kids/guests. there will be compromise no matter what direction you gothere will be compromise no matter what direction you go. true that.Re: Have any of you traded in Class A Motorhomes for Toyhaulers?good things to think about. Love that set up too :) dedmiston wrote: Trackrig wrote: Let's say you go from a 37' MH to a 37' toy hauler. If 17' of it is for the garage, that only leaves you with 20' of living space. Yes, I know you can kick the RZR outside and sit it the garage, but..... Can the two of you see yourself living in a 20' fifth whl or a 20' TT? Unfortunately, we're all faced with the same problem, there's no really good way to take it all with you. I've looked at this a couple of times and have considered a trailer with the RZR and short toad like a Jeep on it. Still not a really good solution. My hunting partner tows a Chevy diesel CC 4X4 truck behind his MH with his RZR on the truck bed. Bill 17' garage? That's not the norm. Have any of you traded in Class A Motorhomes for Toyhaulers? We currently have a 37 ft motorhome with cargo trailer to haul RZR and car. Husband is considering a toy hauler with garage...this way we could just get one with a garage for the rzr and then we'd have a vehicle. I wish rv dealers would let us look without them hounding us so we could just look :) I like the homelike feel of a motorhome, the toy haulers I've seen have pretty hard surfaces, I like carpet lol Just wondering any experiences in changing to this type of set-up :) TIARe: Rock hound pastimewe're near Ogilby Road outside of Yuma. we found some agates :) down a road with power poles, can't remember exactly where we were :oRe: Rude campers to the extreme leggy wrote: So, we are at Lake George RV Park, N.Y. and had group of campers that were loud two nights in a row. First night I told them they should move their fire away from our camper, midnight. Second night, I went out and almost verbatim told them their conversations for the past half hour. Guy says that I should wear earplugs to bed. I then said you are annoying me and my family, so I will do the same. I started my truck and angled the high beams directly into their group. About then the on duty manager shows up and apologizes to the group for having to respond to a complaint! Long story short, we moved to a different site today, screwed up our days plans and we weren't in the wrong! Our new site is much tighter, but surrounded by other respectful campers. I never thought I wouldbe forced to move but they left us with no choice. Ok, rant over. I feel your pain. We were camped next to some that had subwoofers going, fires goes right next to our bedroom window, etc. it was hotter than hades, and I really wanted to sleep with our bedroom window open, but couldn't. Wish I'd had the courage to say something to them sigh new site, last night. I'm sleeping in the living room on the couch with my walking boot (ankle hairline fracture) as the bed at this point isn't comfortable. Windows open again because of heat (we're in Yuma, it's 91 degrees) A van pulls up across a wash from us, and leaves his fre@#@#$in headlights on ALL NIGHT LONG and they are shining into our windows. RUDE. I closed the curtains and it was ok, but by that time I was awake. Need to find the spotlight for times like this and shine it right back at them.
