Secondly it was posted by a member it was done on his RV. The entire trailer was supported on four Jack stands not just the front landing gear.Re: Jacking up my 5er to R/R equalizersI wanted to update this. My front landing gear motor is not powerful enough to lift the trailer with the jack stands at the rear of the rear axle. I had to eventually use my 3 ton jack to lift it the rest of the way. On each side of course.Re: Inverter help CA Traveler wrote: The OP needs to add a ATS or manual DPDT switch to the inverter output and the plug circuit. Yes! For sure! I am surprised you haven't fried your inverter. Maybe this post will help. https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/27816652.cfmRe: cross bracingIf you can weld I would say install a 2x2 square tubing between the hanger brackets. The X-Factor is good if you do not have access to a welder or cannot weld.Re: New to 5er need advice on a hitch - Autoslide vs Air Pin Box CarnationSailor wrote: Calkidd wrote: SDcampowneroperator wrote: with Auto sliders your truck and rig must be straight aligned to connect/ disconnect. Too limiting in my opinion, you could not pay me to have one. Simply not true. Well, yes, it is true. I have a Demco Hijacker Auto Slide and (as the owner's manual states) the centerlines of the 5th wheel and the tow vehicle must be within 5 degrees of each other. It is limiting, but only to the extent that many curved (arc'ed?) pull-thru sites won't work for us. We just avoid them. So you group ALL auto silders when you have expereience with one brand? Do a little more research you'll find not all auto sliders are like the ONE you used.Re: Garage sizeI have a 11' garage. I can haul 3 quads and 3 dirt bikes. The quads are up on the back wheels and the bikes are loaded sideways. So i am thinking you can get two golf carts and a few bicycles inside.Re: buying/installation of pullrite superglideYou can hand opperate the hitch to make sure it slides easily. There is also a track a large bearing rides in. Check that track for wear. There will be some normal "flaring" on the edges of the track.Re: New to 5er need advice on a hitch - Autoslide vs Air Pin Box SDcampowneroperator wrote: with Auto sliders your truck and rig must be straight aligned to connect/ disconnect. I love the autoglide and the fact it is worry free. You can't beat the customer service of Pullrite. I also second Trailair. It is just not for chucking, but it keeps the harsh impact on the trailer frame and the vehicle to a minimum. Watch a Trailair video and you will see just how much movement is absorbed.Disk Brake Conversion Hub questionI have been doing some searching to no avail, but I know the answer is out there. When I comes to converting your electric drum to disk brakes there are a few kits to choose from. But why $500 for a disk hub, backing plates and calipers? Example; when you purchase hubs for your truck you don't pay more than $50 for the hub maybe $30 for a caliper and $20 for a set of pads? Quite the mark up eh? So, what automotive disk hub will install on a Al-Ko 7000 lb axle? I can't help to think there is a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck hub assembly that will fit on the spindles. Any thoughts?
