During the summer season they may institute a mandatory shuttle for visitors to the top, best to call in advance.Re: Same Travel Trailer...new or used? Worth the warranty?See if they would put you in touch with the prior owner so you can query them about its history. Never hurts to ask.oldest 5er that wouldn't need to be lifted for 2016 RAMStarting to spend some time in this forum in hopes of getting smarter before I purchase a used 5er in the next year or so. Been reading of folks with newer trucks and older trailers that need to lift the trailers to sit level and/or clear side rails when attached to the taller, newer trucks. What would be the oldest 5er that I should be looking for that would sit level with my 2016 RAM 3500 dually, without modification. I understand that there's probably no hard fast rule, I'm just looking for a general model year range across all brands that I can focus on without worrying too much. ThanksRe: Newer diesel with least problemsSmall sample size but so far I have 27k on my 2016 Cummins and have not had to submit any warranty claims yet, truck runs great. A friend of mine had such good luck with his 05 Duramax that he bought a new 2018 one. After 5k miles a push rod cap came loose and his truck has been at the dealer for three weeks while they have his engine apart trying to figure it out. Best advice I have is to read the forums specific to the engines you are considering to see what the owners are saying and see if you can detect any trends. You always will have a few disgruntled owners but if you get many of them saying the same thing, pay attention...Re: Eagle Cap quality? My 2016 EC 960 has been a great camper so far. A few minor issues early on which they allowed me to have repaired through a local repair place without having to to drive back to the dealer.Re: Dually valve extensions?I haven't had any issues yet with using the plastic extension that came from the factory on my '16. This 14" dual foot chuck lets me get to the inside extension as well as easily airing up the outer tire valve. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B007PENKI8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1Re: Artic Fox 811 vs. Eagle Cap 811I've had my EC since 2016 and have no regrets, it's a quality unit. Initially narrowed my search down to the AF and EC and felt that both were very good makes with the AF being a bit heavier for comparable floor plans. Make sure your weight calculations work for your truck and then decide based on how you like the floor plan, can't go wrong either way.Re: Alaska Trip 2017' - Larson's Epic Adventure TR - (Part 1)We've been contemplating an Alaska trip for some time and after seeing your wonderful pictures it will move up quite a bit on our bucket list priority. Please don't get discouraged with the effort of posting your reports, they are awesome, can't wait for more!Re: WinterizingJim - I would take the time to follow/eyeball all your piping and draw a simple one line diagram showing the tanks, piping, pump and valves as they are in relation to each other in the system. Once you have this drawn it should be pretty easy to figure out what the valve positions need to be to accomplish what you want to do. It also helps you get familiar with where all the piping runs through your camper. That said, I do similar to what MTBob does for winterizing, only I use winter windshield washer fluid for the drain traps and waste tanks. I also just hook up the air to the city water connection to blow down all the piping(there are several "how to" posts describing this in more detail on here if you search). Good luck...Re: Feb in Phoenix in TC recommendation? darsben1 wrote: Fiesta Grande in Casa Grande will welcome you with open arms.
