Imagine riding on a crowded train/subway car, or a bus, and someone in the back shoves the person in front of them. That person bumps into the one in front of them, etc etc etc. Nobody actually 'goes' anywhere, but the energy of the initial shove gets transferred to the front of the train/subway car/bus.Re: How many of us are there? Otherwise, they'll keep me for observation. We, of course, will be praying that all goes well (and more quickly than the estimated time!), and you get to go home right away! Just remember to take it easy afterwards, no need for playing Superwoman (besides, Supergirl might be embarrassed!! ;-) )Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's? I felt it was important to make sure this thread's community had a good opportunity to read and respond to those posts. And I really appreciate that, Griff. Update: Kat had her lobotomy... I mean, lobectomy! I'm glad the Dr. could keep those straight, I'd probably be facing a malpractice suit... Anyway, we got that over and done with - oh, and about the Explorer. A '92 Ford Explorer (not an Explorer RV, that'd be too expensive for daily trips!) with over a quarter of a million miles under her wheels. Did great, up until the day I shredded the serpentine belt. After walking to an auto store to pick up a new belt and some radiator fluid, and with a little help from a roadside-assist guy, I was back on the road. Anyway, Mama's doing pretty good, considering she just had the upper lobe of her left lung removed. Came home Friday, and Sunday we went into the ER because she coughed and was suddenly 'leaking' from where the chest tube was. Not blood, not 'puss-ie looking', a clear fluid. Better to be safe than sorry, so I slapped a bandage (an industrial-sized abdominal bandage) over the leak and off we went. Nothing to worry about, she had just popped a stitch that wasn't particularly well-done, a couple of staples and she was good to go. Had her post-op meeting with the surgeon yesterday, and he liked what he saw. Pulled all the staples from the thoracotemy and chest tube, 'taped her up' (Steri-Strips), and he wants to see her again in a couple of weeks. We've been having a field day cleaning tape residue off her skin (I'm thinking the hospital must have been having a sale on tape, they used so much of it!), and aside from a few twinges and a restless night last night, Kat is back at work editing the latest issue of the magazine, and has actually managed to get caught up! We appreciate everybody's thoughts and prayers - 'community' is right! You guys ROCK!Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?Hey guys, haven't had a chance to check in, been a little 'busy', if you know what I mean. A couple of years ago Kat had an episode with Valley Fever that left a quarter-sized hole in the upper lobe of her left lung. The Dr's said it would be nothing to worry about, would probably collapse in on itself. Well, Tuesday it did, in a big way. When I woke up, she said to call 911, she thought she was having a heart attack. Long story short (I know, too late, right??), that quarter-sized hole ended up being the size of a small grapefruit. This morning the Dr's did a lobotomy... No, lobectomy! Geez, I hope they didn't get it confused too! Anyway, they did a lobectomy and a thora-somethingorother. She pulled through okay, but I've been chalking up lots of miles on the Explorer (and my butt!) running between Doyle and Reno. Thanks for the advice, guys. I'll trace the other side of the relay when I get a chance but right now, the Dodge is a low-priority item.Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?Hey Griff, got a really stupid question for you! We've started working on The Beastie, but over the winter it decided to 'not start'. Charge up the battery, get it jump-started, and it runs fine, but once you shut it off, it's 'dead battery time'. Fair warning - rats got into it, and tried to make a nest on the engine! Apparently they decided to dine on some wiring while they were at it. I've got a wire coming off one side of the solenoid that I have NO idea where it goes, what size fuse goes in it (it looks like they went for the fuse holder), is it actually supposed to be fusible link, etc etc etc. Included for your viewing pleasure (or if you just like cringing!)... Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?Thanks guys, I'll let him know. Then again, I 'might' see if I could buy it off him for a song, then fly back to OK to pick it up, slap a regulator in it, and drive it home! Naww, I'll just let him know. Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?Oh great, something 'else' I need to worry about!! In other news, I've got ours 'under wraps' for the winter but at some point I need to crack it back open. A week or so ago I was rotating food-stocks and pulled out a 5 gal. bucket (those are SO useful!! Always keep one or two empties, 'just in case') that turned out to be an effective mousetrap. That explains why I'm one wire short on the battery/relay connection, but that wasn't a mouse, that was a rat. Nearly caught the (not so!) little bugger a couple of days ago, but he disappeared in the fender well. Also talked to my father a couple of days ago, and found out that he recently bought a '76 Dodge. I need to call him back and get the details, but apparently his has decided to 'eat' batteries. Going home from the family reunion, he made it from Lake Arbuckle (Oklahoma) to Purcell, where he had to buy another battery from Wally-World just to get home in Noble (about 20mi). He's thinking shot alternator. :-/Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's? Thanks Griff!Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?I'm willing to give that a shot! I may not be able to get into town until Wed though (when we go to the A&W, have dinner, and see all the classic cars come in to show off!). Chevy cruise control in a Ford Bronco?? To quote Agent Kay from 'Men In Black'..... "Does anything about that seem unusual to you?"Re: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?Sadly, there ain't doodley out here except for a convenience store and an 'old-style General Store', but luckily Reno is 'only' 50 miles away, and they've got an Advance Auto on S. Rock Blvd. I'll give them a call tomorrow. I hadn't considered that possibility, but at this point I'd have to say that anything's possible. I've been finding some pretty imaginative installation of radios and speakers (really, WHY do you need two radios and half a dozen speakers in a 19' RV again?!?!?!), and it's no wonder I can't keep a charge on the battery on a bet. Funny part is, I didn't have that problem until AFTER I started pulling all the excess electronics out. But that's a whole nuther ball of wax, and I've got your wonderful posts on the electrical system to refer to!
