Here's the inflation table. You have to determine the weight on your axles by taking it to the scales. 60 psi will carry 6060 lbs. per axle. 65 psi will carry 6390 lbs. per axle. Front GAWR could be 4550-5600. Rear GAWR should be 6340. Those standard pressures will handle any load up to the limit on the axles. I bought this one thee years ago when it was four years old. Paid $15k. Never noticed any odors. Sleeps four adults and two kids. Small bathroom. 2010 Funfinder Xtra XT-245 by Cruiser RV. 7765 lbs. GVWR. 5025 lbs. from the factory. 7240 lbs. loaded with two bikes, two generators, two tool boxes, two sets of riding gear and spares, water, propane and two batteries. I like the old adage KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid. I've read about rotten floors caused by leaking slide seals and failed slide operating mechanisms. Those reports are easy to find. I expect it gets interesting when the slide retractor stops working when it's extended. I'm sure the extra square feet are luxurious, but they come with complexity. Check the door sticker. The axle code is probably on it. Also check the payload. Payload = maximum weight of occupants and cargo. An estimate of the maximum trailer weight is Max trailer weight = (payload - wt. of all occupants and cargo - 80 lbs. hitch wt.)/0.13 Example: Trailer wt. = (1400 - 600 - 80)/0.13 = 720/0.13 = 5538190Views0likes0CommentsRe: Suggestions for improving towing in an F150?
My four year old truck with all original stock suspension parts tows well with no problems. I did take it across the scales four times to get the WD hitch adjusted properly and the load in the trailer properly located. The tongue weight varied from 700 to 920 and from 10.5% to 13.6% of trailer weight. It ended up at 780 and 10.8%. The truck is at 94% fGAWR, 92% rGAWR and 95% GVWR. 89% of lifted weight is returned to the front. A trip to the scales helps get it balanced.751Views0likes0Comments
