Pry bars, wood wedges, brute force, swearing etc. Manufacturers should allow a little play in the pipe. Cause sooner or later, it's gonna need replacing.Re: Question about black tank connectionFirst and foremost DRAIN and FLUSH the black tank very well prior to disassembly! As said, remove the 4 nuts and bolts from all four corners. Separate the black pipe on the right away from the from the blade valve. Insert new blade valve and bolt back up. I had to put a ratchet strap to my axle and "gently" move the black pipe back enough to get the new blade in with messing up the O-rings. My cable was sticking as well and the blade was leaking. For the cost of a manual valve and cable and an electric valve, I chose the electric. Push button, valve opens. Push button, valve closes. Perfect! https://rvtipoftheday.com/general-tips/barker-auto-drain-waste-dump-valve/Re: TorkLift Glow Step Resolution InstallWe did our homework and read the pros & cons of different type steps. Yes, they are expensive, but we think they will best suit our needs.TorkLift Glow Step Resolution InstallPurchased Torklift's Glow Step Revolution for the RV and we installed them yesterday. Purchased part #A8004 from eTrailer for $641.99. Shipping was only about three days, they were well packaged and arrived safely. From start to finish, taking our time, the DW and I did it in about 2.5 hours. First we remove the old steps. Pretty straight forward. 4-9/16" nuts on carriage bolts. Had to sawzall one bolt out because it was cross threaded during install! After old step removal there are two plates with holes in the 27 3/4" apart attached to the RV that the new steps attach to. We put them in & out of position a couple times to make sure of fit. Our opening is 27 3/4". The steps are 27 1/2". So, we needed to take up 1/8" on each side with a spacer washer we supplied. (I think there is a spacer kit Torklift sells, if you know you need it) We also substituted there 3/4" bolts with 1 1/2" bolts because the 3/4" bolts, after installing 2 flat washers, 1 lock washer and the nut, they were too short. Easy install, sturdy and we think they will be a good addition. Re: Jayco Hot Water Heater ProblemIt is not supposed to look like this! There is spring and plastic retainer missing. I imagine they are in the bottom of the hot water tank. Re: Jayco Hot Water Heater ProblemAfter taking everything out of the basement and removing fake wood panels the water heater was found. Removed the check valve and the little plunger did not have the attached spring and clip anymore. Bought and installed a new one and viola, we have hot water pressure in the RV! :B ThanxJayco Hot Water Heater ProblemHave been hooked up and working fine for a bit! Week in Savannah, GA. and all is well. Go to Wildwood, Fl. and hook up for 3 days and all's well. Woke up this morning and no hot water 'pressure". Cold water pressure is fine. Purge hot water heater numerous time. Same issue, cold water pressure, not hot water pressure. HELP! :(Re: Required hitch for 6 3/4' bedHave towed this 5vr with this truck for at least 4K plus miles without incident! Made a too sharp turn at a fuel stop and POW, there goes the rear window! Now I am super self conscience of my turns. That is why we changed to Pullrite Superglide Auto Slider. You make the call, but I just was to gun-shy after breaking the window! Re: Short Beds w/out Sliding HitchAfter towing many thousands of miles I hit the back window with the 5vr. That made me gun shy so I went with an auto-slider! Tomorrow will be the first test towing with the new hitch and hope it works well! Re: Pullrite Superglide or Demco Hijacker?I did go with the Demco. Got it from eTrailer. Just waiting for Estes Trucking Company to deliver it to the house. Supposed to be tomorrow!
