I teach English online to children in China from my rv. I'm currently at a rural lake campground in Missouri. I use proprietary two-way software. For a data connection, I use a Verizon Novatel 8800L MiFi via 4gLTE. The 8800L uses carrier aggregation to improve the data connection. Usually, I don't have too much lag.

I use a group of Blink cameras, a remotely controllable smart thermostat, a moisture detector (behind the washer), an alarm system, and a wifi connected weather station. All of this does require a reliable internet connection.

In gmail, you use labels to simulate folders. So, to "put a message in a folder", you add a label to it and then archive it. You can also use filters to automatically add labels to incoming messages.
