My issue is that I’d like to go the other way. My Arcadia came with a factory installed tankless water heater. I thought it was a great idea (not knowing that there is a minimum flow requirement to get hot water). It’s fine when you have FHUs but a water waster when you don’t have a water hook up. So my question is…..does anyone know how big of a project it might be to install a standard model? TIARe: 30amp surge protector on 50amp lineThanks for the input all.30amp surge protector on 50amp lineQuick search here turned up nothing. Am getting a new trailer. It’s set up for 50amp but doesn’t have the 2nd AC unit installed. Has the 50amp cord. Without the 2nd AC, I wouldn’t think that the RV would routinely pull more than 30 amps. My question is, can I use my 30amp surge suppressor or do I need to get a 50amp?Fluctuating water tempsIn our shower, hot water flows hot and cold water flows cold. When taking a shower, at normal flow, the temp stays constant. When we push the button to a trickle (oxygenics head) the water temp fluctuates hot/cold/hot/cold. It never happened before until our first trip out a few weeks ago. The water heater bypass is set to the correct position, both of the outside hose spray connections are capped. When the kitchen or bathroom sink is running, when the pump strokes, the water gets a a bit hotter just on the stroke then goes back to the set temp. Does anyone have any ideas? ThanksRe: Good Sam Rally/ ConventionAs some said on the other thread. The kind of person that would go to a rally is disappearing. Look at site availability…..I can go almost anywhere during “normal” camping season that I want Sunday thru Thursday. Friday/Saturday ?? Forget it. Families don’t even take week long camping trips anymore. The generations behind the Boomers are less social therefore leading to a smaller chance of wanting to be involved in a rally. If you wonder around a campground, more than likely, the only people who are open to a conversation, anything past the polite hello, are the Boomers. I think only the large, factory driven rallies will be able to survive for at least a few more years.Illinois to Ft Lauderdale …… in DecemberPlanning on a winter trip to the Southeast. First night in Florida will be Dec 21 in Sunrise. Got 1/2 the trip planned before I started to look at the drive down, not thinking about where to stop that time of year. Was trying to avoid killing myself on the drive. Was looking at 3-4 days driving. Does anyone have suggestions on routes and overnight places to stop and sleep? ThanksRe: towing with gm 6.6 gasWe have a 2500HD with the 6.6 gas. We haven't done a whole lot of towing yet but we have done a trip from northern Illinois to central Kentucky last spring and a few trips to different places in Wisconsin. Trailer is roughly 7500# and at 62mph on the highways we are getting 8.5mpg on avg. i"m very happy with that considering that's what I was getting with my Tundra.Re: Replacement WDH shaftOk, getting back to the original post. Thanks for the info so far. The unanswered question I guess is: will a Pro-Series head work with a shank from a different mfg?Replacement WDH shaftGathering info in case I need it in a month or two. Just upgraded our TV to a 3/4 ton. Of course, that increased the receiver size to a 2 1/2” from a 2”. I think it may also be higher enough that I might need a different shaft because I may not be able to drop the ball enough on my existing one. Packed away right now so I can’t be sure, but I’d like the info in advance so if I need one, I can get it quickly. Two questions: do I get a 2 1/2” if I can for my style of hitch and where do I get one? I have a preo-series round bar with 1200/12000# set up. ThanksRe: Peel and Sick Vinyl Plank.Don’t remember what brand I used, though I bought mine at Lowe’s. I sprayed the floor with 3M Super 77 adhesive prior to putting down each piece. Never had one shift or come up in 4 years.
