Campgrounds in / near Pittsburgh, PA
Looking for a campground that is near bus service into Pittsburgh or close enough that we can get a Uber car ride into downtown. We'd be there on a Saturday. Does the casino downtown allow overnight parking? Any other large parking areas where we could park and take a tour bus? It looks like Station Square has parking and metro. Is that accurate? I took a backroad from Asheville to Atlanta and happened to drive through a tourist destination. There was a small creek that ran through town. I stopped and did some tubing. I remember a spot beside the creek that had a bunch of sneakers tied to a fence. I guess these were shoes lost by tubers? There was an old stone mill in town that still ground flour. I recall the town might have had German architecture in their tourist area. I've traveled so many places they run together. I'd like to go back, but I've no idea where I was. Anyone? We're going for the 1st time. We will start at Crossville Tn where we'll pickup hwy 127. I think we'll head south to Chattanooga, but we haven't finalized our route. Has anyone attended this event? Suggestions on where to stay? We are fine overnighting at a flying J or equivalent. I'd be interested in towns that have a large community yard sale so I can park the rv and walk for hours. I really don't want to go from house to house trying to find parking. We are in a 26 foot B+, so it's not as bad as it would be with our former class A motorhome.
