All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Ram quality & company and dealer responseMy first Ram was a 2004 1500 5.7 2wd. Awesome truck. 160k, the motor blew and I sold it to a local mechanic. I then bought a 2014 Ram 2500hd 5.7 4x4. It was a nightmare. Needed new ring and pinion, broken manifold bolts on both heads, one requiring a new head as the old bolt couldn't be removed, water pump went out, rust above the windshield, alignment issues as 4 shops couldn't get it right, and a faulty radio. The ignition switch was replaced 3x as you could pull the key out of the ignition and the motor would still run. All this by 55k so i got rid if it. The dealership would have the truck for weeks at a time as parts were limited. You get a good one or a bad one and unfortunately, I got a bad 2014. Good luck to you.Re: Solar and inverter deals at LowesI checked Lowes by me and they said discontinued item.Re: Escape hatch coverI went to Camping World and the guy took out his catalog and couldn't find it then he did an online search and said my best bet was Amazon. I have searched online and couldn't come up with anything so far. I will keep looking.Escape hatch coverI am not sure if this is posted in the correct section. I have a 2004 Curtis Baja toy hauler. The escape hatch cover is cracked and leaks water when it rains. Went on the roof and measured the outside flange and it is 22x22. I went on amazon and ordered and Hengs/Jensen replacement that is also 22x22 and When i got it, it is too small and the hinge is a different style. Seems like the new cover should be 23x23. I can not find anything that will fit. Is there a way to make a new one myself and use the existing hardware? Any specialty places that may have a lid that will fit? Thanks for your help.Re: Ram truck problems ?I have a 2014 Ram 2500 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi. Problems to date other than recalls include: Rear end gears replaced at 20k. I am on my 3rd Ignition switch. Exhaust manifold bolts breaking on both heads, one head had to be replaced at 35k as broken bolt couldn't be removed. Truck will not stay aligned. Truck start to lean to the left at 40k by about 2 inches before an adjustment was made. Rust forming around the windshield. As of yesterday, a coolant burning smell noticeable after turning off and exiting the truck. All this at 55k miles. My 2004 Ram had zero problems up until 160kRe: Ram 2500 Transmission RatiosMy 2500 4x4 with the 5.7 shifts like **** too. Plenty of motor for what i use the truck for but the shift points are terrible Dealer says it is normal.Re: 2014 RAM 2500 6.4 burning through tiresI have a 2014 2500 4x4 with the 5.7. The original tires lasted 17k miles. The alignment on this truck seems to be my issue. I had it aligned at 13k as the front left tire was wearing funny. I purchased new tires at 17k and had it realigned again as it started pulling right. At 31k I had it realigned at the dealer when it was in for in of the recalls. 40k it needs alignment again. Kind of a pain considering I don't do any off-roading.Re: 12'4" Razor in a 12' THTake the trailer to the Polaris dealer and tell them if it fits, you will buy it.
