At that point you have a $4,000 trailer that looks and performs like a $16,000 trailer. Bingo... What hidden damage could hail cause that you wouldn't want to use this 16k trailer for 4K for 4 years. And that is assuming that you don't get at least 2-4k out of it. Heck it may not cost you a dime to own it for the next 5 years. Keeping it and 12k is a no brainer.Re: Trailer Stolen with Man Inside! carjocky wrote: He was swerving trying to throw him out of the trailer to kill him. I would have unloaded the gun at the guy. I just can imagine unless they were cracked that out of the blue with it not overloaded it would just bend like that. That is some thick steel.Re: Keystone Bullet PremierMy lord what was your tongue weight! You must have had WAY to much loaded to the front of the camper.Re: Commit to Purchase TT- What is expected?Buy law they can not keep your deposit if you decided not to buy anyway so all of this is mute. I purchased from RVwholesalers (all american coach). They are good people and would not try to keep your deposit. I work to minutes from them and they are a great place to do business with. With that being said I am sure that like someone said if you call them and say we are on the way and will be there in 3 1/2 hours they would hold it for you until then. But for the others that saying who is buying in this weather? Everybody that is thinking about it is buying now. This is the busy time for them and motorcycles. You buy those items before spring so you can use them when the weather turns. 30 - 45 days.Re: Commit to Purchase TT- What is expected? goducks10 wrote: popeyemth wrote: What's the odds of someone buying a particular unit in the window the OP has before he arrives? In this market, this time of year, with this weather? A "holding deposit" or any deposit before the fact is ridiculous. It's a marketing ploy to get one mentally and emotionally committed to the sale and to create a false sense of urgency. Exactly. When we traded in our last TT on our current 5'er from a dealer that was 300 miles away it was done over the phone with both units sight unseen. Never gave them a penny till we signed the papers after the PDI. On the flip side of the coin how many people rant and rave about we drove 300 miles and then when we got there it was sold. Then complain that the dealer "screwed them". The reason they get the deposit is they dont want to hold a trailer they could have sold and you decided you arent going to show up. The deposit is refundable but shows that you are indead interested and going to show up.Re: Purchasing our first travel trailer djsamuel wrote: Camplite 16BHB - 2750 lbs dry weight Camplite 21BHS, 3499 lbs dry weight Both have 2 bunks. These look like good units for a SUV. I wouldnt go any longer. That is what is going to give you the sway. Anything longer will make the tail wag the dog.Re: Berryland in hammond TomG2 wrote: I agree totally that the dealer is not obligated to lower their price just because they "should". My problem with Berryland is that I went out of my way to visit their business only to discover that their "Internet" advertisements were misleading. The salesman finally admitted that some of their inventory was of the phantom variety. Offering a low price on an item not in stock is easy to do. Might even be called "Bait and switch"? I agree. That is bad business. I am in sales and we always put in our disclaimer "please call for availability before stopping out". Because what you looked at today and will purchase tomorrow someone may have looked at yesterday and is going to buy today.
