I never heard of them before the last couple of years. As a company or as a supplier of TC jacks? Learn something every day. So my related question is whether the Happijac owners have experianced similar problems?Re: Looking for opinions on automatic vs stick run100 wrote: Bigfoot offers units with slides??? I wonder?Re: Another question about off-truck storageMost mfg recommend not storing the camper on the JACKS, but rather on it's base. Keeping it in a truck is fine as well as on some supports like wood blocks and plywood. Having said that, many owners just use the jacks without problems, for many years. Personally, I have a reinforced 4ft by 8 ft platform about 2 ft high and use that.Re: Composting Toilet 06Fargo wrote: Sh*t needs to be bathed in clean fresh water prior to disposal for the world to function correctly. Thanks, Bill This is the topic, not anything else. 1 Has anyone switch to the composting toilet? 2 Is so, please expound on your experience with the conversion. If you have not switched then why do you insist on posting on this thread? Wayne You don't get to decide what people are allowed to write about. Many of us are responding to Option #3: Have you investigated switching to a composting toilet in your rig and decided not to? Why? He's a moderator, yes he doesRe: Composting Toilet sleepy wrote: Reddog1 wrote: sleepy, I'm thinking this is off topic. Wayne Actually it is what we are trying to make safe in our disposal systems. Time is a necessary componet to make our waste safe. You camper holds it safely... your margerita maka transfers it to a safe place for LONG term treatment I hope you understand.... I have camped with you... I know that you are conciousis... leave nothing behind but you shadow and tire tracks. You are getting tiring.Re: Charging House Batteries while DrivingMost vehicle charging circuits are not designed to charge batteries, just maintain them and unless you have a separate regulator just sensing the camper batteries, you will never get a full charge, regardless of how big your wire are or how long you run the truck. That being said, the real question is whether the driving will put enough back into the batteries to offset the overnight furnace use. With two group 24 batts in good condition, then the answer is most likely yes... Furnaces use 4-8 amps when running and for a 50 percent duty cycle, you may use 30 or so amps per night, maybe 50 with all the lights. So you should easily replentish that during you daily drive. Most likely. Please report back and let us know how you do, it is useful informationRe: Charging House Batteries while Driving djg wrote: doesn't the amp hours double if you wire them in parallel, my batteries are wired that way and I never run out of power at night and recharge in the morning driving, just wondering as I have 130 amp hour batteries dry cell AGM's they then should give you 260 amp hrs if i'm not mistaken Dave Yes, you have 260 AH of batteries. That's pretty good, must be group 31's To typical OEM 12v flooded are more like 80AH so only 160AH or so.
