There is a caveat to that - as long as the firearm is legal in that state and local laws do not prohibit it. Some states/cities have laws relating to specific firearms, magazine capacity limits, or even keeping them in a functional state within your home (Heller and McDonald decisions aside, some places elect to ignore them).Re: SafetyAs a firearms instructor, I get asked about this a lot. First - develop your skills of Situational Awareness. Know where you are and who and what is going on around you. You can pick up on a lot of potential problems before they become an issue you need to deal with. Second - carry yourself with confidence, and develop some skills in Command Presence. In all of the time I carried on the job, this was instrumental in never having to discharge my firearm. I can remember instances where junior folks were dealing with a subject, and the entire demeanor of that subject changed when I showed up - they realized that I wasn't playing. Even when working as an armed security guard - I had police ask me for assistance in dealing with subjects on more than on occasion because I "seemed more like a cop" to the subject. (It doesn't help that most of them want to wear a golf/polo shirt with a patch instead of uniform with a metal shield). Third - Get some training. Learn how to handle a firearm, how to store it safely, and how they work. Fourth - If offered, get a concealed firearm permit where you live. It may offer benefits such as RECIPROCITY and RECOGNITION. There is a very useful app for smartphones called Legal Heat. It is your responsibility to know the laws where you are, wherever that is. Here are some follow-up articles if you are interested... http://rvgunner.com/slfdfnsideas.htm http://rvgunner.com/whycarry.htm http://rvgunner.com/gunsafety.htmRe: Jayco or Grand Designs toy haulers experience?Grand Design did just sell to Winnebago. So far, nothing has changed - they still have EXCELLENT after-the-sale support and their build quality is good. They seem to realize that GD has been doing a lot of things right, and want that to continue.Re: Momentum 395 Hot Weather QuestionI'm a little confused. Who at Grand Design told you you can't run a three AC units at the same time on the 395M? Are you sure they were talking about being hooked up to 50A service? If you are running on the generator, then yes you can only run two at a time. But on 50A power there should be no issues with running all 3.Re: Momentum 395 Hot Weather QuestionWe full-time in a Grand Design Momentum 385TH which has a similar design. Keep in mind that on 50A service you can run all 3 AC units (if it has three) at the same time. That being said, we generally only use all 3 if we are setting up and wanting to rapidly cool things down or when everything was shut off for the day - and it does cool things down fast. We really got the 3rd mostly for backup in case either of the other 2 fail. They are well insulated, and two do the job just fine for us,Re: What does 10 TRILLION gallons of water even equate to?FACT - The planet goes through natural heating and cooling cycles. FACT - The star our planet orbits has both short-period (11 year) cycles and long-period cycles. FACT - When I was in elementary school, we were promised that it was established science that the planet was cooling and we were going to have another ice age unless people stopped polluting and populating. FACT - Today, we are promised that it is established science that the planet is warming and will overheat unless people stop polluting and populating. FACT - There are legitimate scientists that do not believe in the conclusions that have been reached by others relating to the impact that man has on these natural cycles. Follow the money. Follow the agendas.Re: Ram Block Heater and Cord -Missing Perrysburg Dodgeboy wrote: LOL sorry the manufacture does not order the truck the dealer does and the know nothing sales manager specs out what he thinks the customer wants. ALL Ram diesel come with the block heater installed... If you bought a in-stock until or dealer ordered unit they did not order the "COLD WEATHER GROUP" as other have said. Don This is absolutely correct. I've seen them order trucks to advertise as "tow beasts" with the 68RFE instead of Aisin transmission, not add the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck prep, and even fail to add the TBC. The person at the dealership that ordered it left the option off. You DO have the block heater installed. You DO NOT have the cord for it. That cord is part of the Cold Weather Group. You can get them as cheap as about $20 online, but I'd recommend getting https://www.genosgarage.com/product/wd-bhp-10/winter from Genos. It's much more convenient than the factory plug - I replaced ours with it.Re: Tripod on 5th wheelWe have one on our 43' 5th wheel. Where it makes a difference for us is when we run the washing machine. The spin cycle runs at something north of warp factor 8, and the tripod does dampen the vibration.Re: Tow Speed excess!Just because someone thinks they have the skills to drive at excessive speeds doesn't mean that doing so is the right thing to do. "Sure I do, I've been doing it for a long time. You don't know me or my skills. Just because you are a ***** doesn't mean I have to be". I know of firearms instructors that have shot themselves in the foot/leg because they grew complacent. I have the video of an "agent" that shot himself in the foot because of complacency and overconfidence, right after he assured everyone in the room that he was "professional enough". The thing is, you need to be prepared for your worst day, not your best day. The day when the guy in the Prius pulls in front of you and hits his brakes because of the squirrel that ran in front of him. The day that you go to pass another trailer and discover that he was driving slower because of something you didn't see and didn't have time to react to at your speed. Time and distance are your friends.
