Safe TravelsRe: I-80 in NebraskaI live in Grand Island, Ne and have pulled my 5th wheel both directions on I-80. By washboards, are you actually referring to the expansion joints in the concrete? If so, they are there and will always be there. I dont find them too terrible but I may be used to them. I dont remember ever coming across actual washboards. I have found that the inside lane is a tad smoother for some reason but you still have the clickity clack of the expansion joints. Hwy 30 is a nice drive but I actually prefer the interstate when pulling my camper. Safe travels... JonRe: 5th wheel and tonneau cover jamesu wrote: Am pondering buying our first 5th wheel. A concern is whether or not I would have to remove my "BakFlip G2" tonneau cover to accommodate the 5th wheel hitch in the 6' p/u bed. The BakFlip has 4 approx 18" sections that fold back on themselves and the last section nearest the truck folds up against the back window and anchors with a bracket on each side. Wondering if others have kept their folding tonneau cover on their trucks by folding it out of the way successfully or if they just removed it because it was a hassle. I want to have my cover when we are camped and doing our day trips to be able to store stuff safely and out of the weather. I have the exact same cover on my 2008 Super Duty and I fold the back 2 sections to expose the hitch and everything hooks up fine. Nothing rubs or interferes with hitch operation or articulation.Re: Your Rig Nice, what bed cover is that on your truck? It's called a Bakflip. Folds up in sections and it's lockable. http://www.bakflip.comRe: Your Rig shadows4 wrote: Good looking rig!!!! Truck looks like a new one!! Welcome to the forums. Thanks for the comments and the welcome. Truck was garage kept by previous owner who only put 70,000 miles on it. Truck basically is brand new, not quite broken in yet motor wise.Re: Tow vehicle as daily driver? My daily driver is the truck in my sig. Gets about 11-12mpg towing/in town driving. The best I ever got was 15mpg driving interstate without anything in tow.Re: Your RigBeen a lurker for a while and finally decided to register. Here is my camper and truck. 2004 Crossroads Cruiser being puled by a 2008 F250 FX4 6.4L PSD. Bought them in 2014 as a package deal and have taken them out about 8-9 times so far. No issues with either except the truck does sag alittle while camper is attached. Looking at air bags or helper springs eventually.
