I've been thinking of tents just to get out there but always had the truck camper in my mind. I guess I know where to go now. tks for the link. /MikeyRe: I-820 around Ft. Worth?OMG, I35 is a hazard zone. I take I35 from San Antonio up to Dallas/Ft Worth often. There is so much construction going on that it is just not worth the stress and time. I started doing what my sister does, take the back roads and enjoy the sites.Re: Is it possible to drain waste ?OMG. You must be kidding me. Use the hose lol. We raised eight children and I had no problems with me cleaning them. Even their smelly vomit. I didn't test my first new hose before we went to dump. Basically we had a small air leak and that is the grossest smell in the world. I surely lost my gag reflex that one time. I even tossed all my clothes on the MH steps into a big plastic bag and got rid of that also. Never again. When I lived in Alaska this was the best fertilizer around. How do you think they grow such large veggies? Of course you had steps to follow to make sure it was safe for crops and veggies. NO MORE. But on the other side my gray tank goes onto my yard as does my kitchen drain and washer drains. I've got no mosquitos, fleas or ticks in my yard btw, plus no smell.Re: Years full-timing since retirement?Been at it for eight months now since I retired (twice now)and loving it. Still have my S n B place with a soon to be 17 year old son along with my daughter plus three grand kids living there. Not really full timing yet per see, since I cant displace my family. I spend one week a month with them and the rest of the time out on the road just for ME :) Seems to work for us. And now with cooler temps I will spend more time away and spend a week once every two months with them, well maybe just a few nights, lol. Not in a hurry to get there any longer.Re: Getting around Houston going west?Just take a rest stop before entering Houston, relax, fill up the vehicle with gas though (LOL). Try to avoid the early morning and evening rush hour. Houston has lots of traffic and there is no way around it. A lot of it is due to rubber necking around wrecks and such. Grin and bear I say. Just take your time and let them cut in front of you because they will :) So far (knock on wood) I've had no problem driving (accident free) with my class A thru it. If you need to once you get through Houston, pull over and just let it all out. Whew, but their traffic is heavy. WOW. I10 is the best route out though.Re: Lots of Truck CampersAnd I'm thinking on getting a TC for my 2012 Tundra. Still searching until I can find the ONE.Re: Do not make reservations at woodland lakes rv park Houston,Perhaps not but there should be a link somewhere that you can write and give your opinions on RV parks. I've since deleted it (the link) since it seems not enough people were providing their input.Re: Opinions of Thor MotorhomesYou know I've read so many posts, did a lot of research on all brands before I bought a Thor class A. All brands have problems. Its all a learning experience on each brand. Some call Thor cheap on their models avail. Just like a car which brand automaker you prefer. Get over it, lol. Just get out there and enjoy.Re: Darn little Rascals, made a new hole!wow, with the bird seed. Now I can see why many cg's say not to feed squirrels, birds, etc. Guess that also brings in those rats & mice.Re: Campground Trash ocbms wrote: Another 3 day weekend has ended and the old problem is seem. It seems a 3 door dumpster only has one door that works. It doesn't have to a long weekend but all the trash gets throw in nearest door. When the area is full the door is lifted little more and piled higher leaving the doors nearly empty. This isn't a Illinois State Park Problem as I have in other parks and other states. A sign had been used previously but not successful. I thought part of recycling was putting the trash waste containers so animals didn't eat, swallow and/or choke on people waste. Clay I hear ya Bro.. call and have them take care of it
