Spring came off, pad delaminated, or the adjuster fell out. You will have to pull the drums to figure it out.Re: Jayco 2020 Jay Feather 24RLDid you walk around the lot and look at other trailers? That looks normal to me and is what you would expect if you look at how they did it. They just cut the fender skirt at the break and attached it to the slide which sticks out from the side of the trailer. My Dutchman was like that. Yes; it makes you wonder why they don't tidy it up but in todays world the companies don't strive for perfection.Re: 2020 F-250B&W Turnover ball will do the job. https://www.bwtrailerhitches.com/product/turnoverball-gooseneck-hitch https://www.bwtrailerhitches.com/5th-wheel-hitchRe: Fairbank AK -- Northern Lights ????You have been given some great advice by the other posters. Every major hotel in Fairbanks has an aurora wake up service. You don't have to stay up waiting for the aurora they well call you if the aurora is visible. Plan for some time at Chena Hot Springs. You will be able to book dogsled rides and snowmobile tours in Fairbanks and many of these things may be booked right at your hotel. Tourism is one of our major industries. You will find plenty to keep you busy and lots of information. Keep an eye on airline prices. I don't know how the current situation is affecting prices but in a normal year prices to Alaska triple from just before Thanksgiving until around the 6th of January. PM me any time with questions.Re: Purchasing New Host Everest 11.6, Help PleaseProbably not the right choice for your family. I have owned two 11 foot truck campers, class C , class A, 5th wheel and many bumper pulls. My advice is to set up a small table, 2 lawn chairs a television and camp stove in your bathroom or kitchen and have the family spend the night together in that room. If you make it through the night you would probably successfully last a weekend in a truck camper but no way last a week or two in one. I think truck campers are great and certainly have a place in our ranks. I wish I still had one for many reasons but my advice to you is to buy a used one first and give it a try. At least take the family to the dealer and watch television for an hour and play cards and imagine it is pouring down rain outside. Then decide how you would get ready for bed and again how you will get dressed in the morning. After that go sit in a class c or travel trailer and try to imagine the same situation. Your truck is very capable for a truck camper. Have fun shopping.Re: Toyhauler hitch/truck setupHow was the wind? Wind makes a huge difference in the way the rig feels in the driver's seat. My experience with toyhaulers and over 50,000 miles and all kinds of weight configurations is wind is the primary culprit. With what you described; your rig should have pulled better in the second scenario with the garage unloaded.Re: Generator ProblemDid it happen on an uphill or downhill grade, or while cornering? If yes; add oil.You may be at the minimum oil level which is okay as long as the vehicle stays level.Re: Good Sam Trip plannerI suspect we need to be patient. This is a work in progress.I did not even expect the site to be up and running at this point. I like the new features but it is lacking some obvious features. I think they rolled it out early for us to make suggestions.Re: Roof antenna and internet share one indoor coax hookupYou can use a through the window/under door coax connector. Works fine for TV and satellite.Re: AK residents specifically-others with knowledgeIn June and July the sun is overhead most of the day so flat panels work fine. There is plenty of sunlight in April, May and August but I do try to position my portable 100 watt panel to face the sun if I am in camp. A 100 watt panel laying flat kept my fridge running for 8 days while parked in Whitehorse. I left it parked while away for that time. That was the middle of August and it did rain a few days while I was gone, I only went to solar because I leave my camper parked in remote places unattended and want the fridge to stay alive while I am gone. Come September, once you start using the heater and lights, you will still need to run the generator to keep the batteries up. November through March just keep pouring the fuel in the generator and buy an electric blanket. Have fun.
