Course i'm not all that shy so a walk thru bathroom is fine with me. JimRe: Should we buy used 5th wheelAll pretty good advice. Our first & second RV were used and were a very good deal. When we looked for another we thought we would buy just what we wanted and would depend on reputation. WRONG!! The factory warranty was mostly a wasted trip. We spent 2 yrs. of hard work and +$15,000 to get what we thought we had purchased! Owning a tool & die shop we had the expertise & facilities to do the work ourselves but it was still a painful experience. Check the ads & find the unit that meets your desires, price, etc. Then get an HONEST tech to COMPLETELY inspect the whole unit before committing to a sale(the fee is well worth it). Used is always the best option, just takes longer to find the best fit. Best of luck on your new life. Jim & SallyRe: Insulating the walls inside of the cabinets and front capWe used aluminum faced 1/2" foam board in all cabinets. Helped a lot. Jim & SallyRe: Lookin for FW w/ kitchen on drive side& windows on camp sideOur Excel 35mko is kitchen drive side & table & sofa camp side. Thought most mid kitchen 5ers were. On another subject,if allowed, can anyone direct us to a "for sale" site for our trailer and class 6 tow vehicle? We can't travel anymore due to age & sickness and need to sell our "set up for full time" baby. Any help is appreciated! Jim & SallyRe: Tow Vehicle PreferencesGranted I may be biased, but my class 6 medium duty Bering MD-23 has been very satisfactory. Weighs 1 1/2 times as much as a 1 ton dually( which is classified as a light duty truck), has better brakes, much shorter turning radius, better driver visibility and eliminates the "tail wagging the dog" syndrome I experienced with lesser trucks-all were Dodge Cummins-good trucks but over matched. 9/10 mpg towing 18,500lb trailer and 2,600lb car and cruising @ 55/70 mph. Good Luck with whatever you select.Re: Norcold 1200 is being extendedOur 19 cu.ft Kenmore(replacement for a 1200)weighed LESS, and went in w/o much modification. Not as pretty but works better and saves $30.00/mo. in electricity. Runs on MSW inverter just fine and in approx. 4,000 mi we have had perfect performance. We are quite pleased but would like to sell the 1200 to get it out of my workshed in FL.
