I would get an Atlas of the western US, highlight all of the national parks, look them up on NPS.gov and print out the maps and info on each park. I do not think that 4 days at each park is a good idea. Some you can do in 1 or 2 days and Yellowstone is probably worth more than 4, if your time allows for it. We are headed for Yellowstone for the eighth time this September and planning on 12 days. Baker Hole in the National Forest is 5 miles north of West Yellowstone and has electric and water hookups.Re: BEST ROUTE VA. TO DERBY CONN. WITH 30 FT TRAVEL TRAILERI like CT194ups's route. Avoid the George Washington and Tappan Zee bridges if at all possible. Too crowded, too much construction and outrageous tolls. I just came over the Newburgh bridge last week $10 for motorhome and tow car.Re: Flagstaff to Florida in the Winter?!Live in Florida. Your highest risk is in Flagstaff because of the altitude. If you take I-10 you should be fine unless you get unlucky and get a dump of snow. It doesn't snow every day. You just need to have a backup plan to hunker down along the route if mother nature fails to cooperate. Worst case is you spend more time getting there than you planned and less time in Florida than you would like. Check in to reservations for Florida and expect the campsite fees to be substantially higher than AZ if you go south of Orlando. As Bob Barker used to say, Come on Down!Re: TiresYou don't want truck tires you want RV tires. They are the same size but not made the same way and are not used the same way. Check out the FMCA tire program.. I have never used but have heard nothing but great things from those that have used it. The tires are RV tires and sent to your tire dealer. It is at least worth checking it out. Don't use the RV for any reason other than to get the tires replaced. You should never drive an RV with 10 year old tires.Re: Awning strap replacementHad to replace on and older class A. It was a 95 class A. I had to drill a hole in the slot to get the old one out and the new one in. If one broke the others will too. Buy enough for every awning and fix all at one time. Bought my replacements at Camping World.Re: Unhooking toad at campgroundWord of caution. Pulling into a site can get you into a bad angle that can bind the tow bar. also steep hills make it harder/ more dangerous. Level wide spot is what you are looking for. Move the toad out of the way, park the RV then walk back to get the toad. Some times there is no easy way and you just have to take your time and do it right and safe. Some CG are designed better that others. As was said before, don't over think it.Re: Gas Gauge not workingHad a problem like that 15 years ago except it was on empty. The RV dealer ran the gas down too low and the combination fuel sender and gas pump burned out. Research indicated that that was a common problem if the gas level got too low. It seems that the gas flowing through the unit also cools it. Poor design if you ask me. Had to replace the unit. Involved removing the leveling jacks cross beam, emptying and lowering the gas tank. The cost about $1,100 to $1,200 dollars. The idiots did not replace the rubber gas line connecting the unit to the metal gas line for the generator. About 3 to 4 inches of rubber gas hose. 2 years latter the rubber gas hose cracked and I had to redo the entire process to replace the hose. Luckily the second job was done by some friends so it just cost me a couple of six packs. My recollection is the tech said it could only be a bag gauge on the dash or sending unit in the gas tank. Hope it works out ok.Re: TV systemBill.Satellite is right on. I did exactly the same thing last week. With that booster on it interferes with the cable signal. Couldn't even get all the channels on cable on my channel search. Turned off the booster, did another channel search and magic. Crystal clear cable.Re: PowerGear hydraulic jacks, low voltage light?I've got an LCI automatic leveler on my 2014 Itasca Solie DP. Many times after retracting the levelers I get a Low Voltage message on my electronic display. Freightliner Custom Chassis told me that that means at some time during the operation of the levelers the battery power went below 11.9 amps. I only get the message once because the batteries get charged up. Suggest you make sure your house batteries are up to charge. If so, is there a loose wire to the leveler control. On my 2005 Terra the fluid reservoir was in the front engine compartment in front of the passenger. It had the Ford V-10 engine. Good Luck.Re: Using 2 sattelites antenasThe reprogramming is done via the dip switches which I have done. Need to look into how to add power to the dome. There were several extra pieces in the box in addition to the dome but the instructions were weak as to what they do. The RV is prewired for the Sat dome so it is unclear exactly what I need. I'll just keep trying. Thanks for the help.
