I'm currently on Galvestion Texas for a month. Things were quiet until this truck and old camper pulled in next to me alast night. The guy is a door slamber. A constant door shut niose went on for at least two hours. He has a bunch of kids that were also loud but I can overlook that. Kids will be kids. Why didn' he leave his doors open while he set up. Then there is another neighbor who fires up a truck with loud pipes and lets it run forever. These are my two gripes of the day. Seems like every park you stay in has has the loud truck start up and idle. Part of the problem is sites are so close together. Anyone else?Re: Rip off prices from RV DealersI'm the original poster. I'm surprised at all the comments. I must admit that no one twisted my arm to buy and install the part and I still love America and our free market system. It was posted more of as buyer be aware and shop around if you want a good deal? I might consider doing the air blow again for winterizing because I'm not sure my wife opened the toilet valve during the process. One of the problems I had was the lack of Wi Fi at our RV Park so I could not shop around. Thanks for all the comments. I agree with retailers have overhead and they need to make a living.Re: Rip off prices from RV DealersI see nothing wrong in a dealer making a profit and even doubling the price of the item does not seem unfair. Dealers have a lot of overhead and have employees. Its the American way to make a profit. I am not about squeezing every penny or nickel until I circumcize the buffalo and I will pay the retail price at the dealer. I do not like being skinned. From now on I will weigh the cost and time factor before I buy parts at the dealer again.Rip off prices from RV DealersWe took a trip along with our neighbors in our travel trailers to the Alabama Gulf Coast last week. While there both of us had issues with our travel trailer toilets due to improper winterizing. Next year we will both due a better job and use the pink stuff throughout the entire system rather than simply blowing it out. We needed to replace our toilet mechanism and found a useful You Tube that showed us how to do it. We both purchased the new valve system from a reputable dealership in the area for $56 with tax and installed it ourselves. When I get home I see the same valve is for sale on Amazon for $9.99 with free shipping. I know these dealers need to make a profit to maintain their store but this much of a mark up is outrageous.Re: Suspension issue, 2021 Rockwood ultra liteThanks!Suspension issue, 2021 Rockwood ultra liteI am broken down in Nebraska City. One front (tandem axels) tire on my new travel trailer is bent outward and the tire has worn down to the cord. I did hit one pot hole but nothing in the suspension was struck and it didn't do any visible damage. I think their must be some kind of torsion bar within the axel that broke. The other tires are fine and the bearings seem OK. Do you think its possible to replace a part in one side or am I stuck getting a new axel? The tire is shot. I could not even move the rig to a dealer and local mechanics now have my trailer but are willing to work on it. I had to return home and await the word from the repair crew as they forward pictures to the RV people today to decide what I need.Re: Battery Issues, Connections?Ha! I just looked under my butane tanks where the battery cables were headed and found a large switch , On/Off for Battery. I turned the switch to On and guess what? My hitch now works. You are correct and I guess I'm still a novice.Battery Issues, Connections?I took my TT in for an A/c Issue and they put in a new 1300 A/C. I have a new Rockport with a 1500 and a 1300 A/c. Problem is my hitch jack no longer works unless I'm plugged into the truck or shore power. I had the trailer plugged in since I cam home so I figured it was getting a trickle charge. The dealer must have unhooked something when he changed out the A/C unit. I thought it was a dead battery but I put a meter on it and the battery is fully charged. I can't reach him today because they are closed but will call him as soon as they are open. Any ideal where I should start looking?Galveston camp grounds. We just returned from a trip to Galveston with our Travel Trailer. We booked Jamaica Beach for a week and through some kind of a mix up were only given 6 days. This didn't work for us so we spent one night there on them and left. This park is a zoo and I hated the place. Everyone was on top of each other. We moved down the road to the new KOA and had some space. It is a ways out of town but the beach and open area suited us much better. I will say the Mgr. at Jamaica was a good guy and took care of my complaint and satisfied me. This park wasn't for me but it might suit you.Re: My A/C Unit SingsIt starts the whine when rhe compressor kicks in.
