Set the trailer & truck on a level surface without being hookd up. Measure the front top of the wheelwell from the ground. (say 37") Set the trailer on the hitch and re-measure.(say 38") Hook the stabilizer bars wher you normally would. it should be no more than 1/2 the distance from weighted and un-weighted. (about 37-1/2") If not, readjust the links in your chain until it's closer to your starting height. At least that's how it was explained to me. Joe this is the way I was told to but to make sure u leave 5 or 6 links long as the less links means the less movement you have when trunning just my 2 cents FrankRe: Roo 23SS Maiden VoyageLooks like a nice set up there. I looked at that trl and it was a toss up between that one and the 199x Solair palomino that we went with but both nice units. hope fully that is all the problems you end up having good luck with the trl FrankRe: Winter Water Damagethat sucks I to dread the day I open mine up after the winter to find it had leaked. I to have the skylight and I to don't like it but if not there I could not stand up in the shower so i guess i see why they put them in but still I can see it as a week point and ill have to keep my eye on it closely. I hope its not a big big fix as its camping time not fixing time good luck FrankRe: auxillary fuel tank Morris Williamson wrote: We are planning a trip up the Alcan hwy this summer and i recently was told i may have trouble crossing the border with my 100 gallon aux fuel tank entering Canada. does anyone have any information on this. i have a 2005 Dodge with a CM bed and i have mounted a fuel tank on it to extend out range when crossing the country or in this case countrys. would appreciate any feedback. Never heared of that before as long as it is mounted right so it can't fall off its fine my Grandpa has a 100 gallon on his truck and he dont have any trouble going back and forth so I would not worie about anything FrankRe: Washing tent endsAny of the new trailers will be Vinal and they make products for washing the tent ends. I buy mine at are RV store in town here for mine. I wash mine all the time as i like everything to be clean LOL any how just go to an rv store and they will have a few brands of cleaners made for your tent ends FrankRe: Border crossings which one is the bestX4 I would take 1000 Islands to as for all the same above FrankRe: 2" riser ball? tragusa3 wrote: My trailer is slightly low on the front, and I think one of these 2" risers would be the cheapest way to get level. Would the rise give any benefits? Less weight ont the truck? More stable towing? Or don't bother... Thanks. If your trailer in sitting low its most like to much tounge weight. You need to get a weight diss hitch for your truck and it will set it up right and ride beeter and more stable for towing FrankRe: Need Help with my tv MrJoelieC wrote: This might be a dumb question? But you specified the Trailer is 1999... I assume you are using a brand new HD Digital TV? As standard broadcast no longer occurs in many areas... Therefore: if you are using an older TV that does not have a digital tuner you wont get much if anything... As I used to sell antennas for Radio Shack in the 90's "Digital ready" antenna is a crock... As Digital signal can be received by just about any Television antenna.. The only other thing to possibly check... As the Trailer is "Close" to 20 years old you may want to check/replace the connection on the cable up on the roof.. Hope that helps. Cheers! MrJoelieC The Trailer is Brand new and the model is a 199x. Anyhow we got it all figured out as i got quite a few chanles at home guess the park was a dead spot thanks all for your help FrankRe: Help with awning LED stripI have LEDs in my awning that was from the factory and so far I love them so i can see why you guys want to put them in to your rigs that dont have them Frank
