I need to install the Snow Blower on my tractor this week and I dread it, what use to take me a couple of hours now takes two days removing the front end loader, greasing everything and installing the Mid PTO Shaft, front mount and then the blower. After that, I think I will be ready for the season.Having followed this thread since it started, I would have taken several breaks. Took me over three years to do a frame off restoration of my 75 Scout II only to have it wrecked by an idiot driving a Ford Exploder on the snow, hit the lady in front of him and spun out and crossed four lanes to destroy my baby. Just because he had four wheel drive, he must have thought he was invincible. Must have not realized we have had four wheel brakes on cars & Trucks since the 30's. Anyways, glad to hear you are still around and still planning to finish. If it was me, I would be waiting until this upcoming spring to get back at it.Re: ignore automaker's suggested towing speedThe faster the speed, the more load on the drive train components. With the engine not running, the transmission is lubricated by the residual oil setting in various places. The engineers calculated how long this oil would last to provide for the safety of the transmission and it's longevity. You can tow at 80 MPH if you don't intend to keep the vehicle very long and will pass the problem onto the next owner. Why the rush, I set back at 58 MPH when the Allison shifts into sixth and enjoy the drive.Re: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?Never had any issues on my end, saw all postings with pictures.Re: 6-way connector + questionWell, my coach only came with a six pin connector so maybe his also came that way. I only use five of the wires to tow my Cherokee for the turn/brake, running and ground connection. I use the fifth wire to active the towed brake application light i installed on my coach dash so that when the towed brake pedal is activated the LED light informs me they are applied. Don't want an inadvertent application going undetected and destroying the brakes on the jeep or worse causing enough heat to set a tire on fire. I don't remember what pin I used as Gulf Stream or the previous owner had only four wires in my six pin socket.Re: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?Happy New Year and many more to come.Re: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?Thinking of the season, I am sure there are other family priorities in play over the coach. If he doesn't post by the end of January, Early February, then we might have to get our fix-it thrills elsewhere.Re: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?Love the experimentation, I guess I like to find out little known knowledge. If the human race didn't experiment, we would still be in the stone age. A lot of experiments fail outright, some are ahead of their time and others lead to remarkable advances in human achievements in material sciences, medicine, transportation etc. Keep it up.Re: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?Glad you had a safe trip and are back fully relaxed and ready to go to work. I managed to fix my cruise control today, I really need to get off my keester and cut the grass, It still hasn't been fully cut since I got back from my trip. I still hate cutting grass as it aggravates my allergies. I also am not sure it is worth over $5.00 per gallon to cut. Takes my mower about 5 gallons to cut the place so $25.00 plus to mow.Re: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?Just paid $5.459 for Diesel near Myrtle Beach, SC. Hurts, but I didn't by my coach to set at home. Still have about 1000 miles plus or minus before we get back home. People are still out, I have had some trouble getting sites on the weekends.Re: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?I to am still interested, this is one of the threads I am subscribed to that I open every notice I receive.
