Please consider staying out of any slot canyons. 11 people died in Upper Antelope years ago, only the guide survived hanging onto the rope ladder yet having all his clothes ripped off by the water. After that I would suggest Lee’s Ferry for a campsite from a postcard…yet the heat. Good luck! Thanks and appreciate the heads up. After reviewing the feedback I'm considering pushing my departure back a few weeks to mid September. After the drive and a week or so fishing in Colorado that would give me the month of October to explore the deserts. Thumbs Up! Fall in the Southwest deserts comes at least a month later than in PA. Until then, toooooo hot. Fall leaf colors are in mid to late October. When you go to bed you slide in your side and pull your covers over you. No need to wiggle to the top of the bed and then back down. TC on the way but that is our thought. Don't know about the cutting. We have a king size memory foam mattress in our cabover. Fitted pad and sheet isn't too bad to put on. Then we each have our own top sheet, blanket(s) and spread sort of tucked in on one edge. Getting in and out in the middle is a breeze and with the memory foam, we can often accomplish that without waking the other up. Worked for 15 years so far. RickRe: TC fit on 2022 F350 7.3L gas DRW 4x4 crew cabI have a 2019 F350 XLT Crew Cab DRW LONG BED 6.2 liter gasser with a large and heavy 2007 Lance 1181. I don't think there has been any change in the Super Duty model details since 2019. I used horse stall mats cut to fit the entire bed to clear the bed rails and the cabover clearance is just fine. My 2007 Lance brochure simply lists the 835 as a long bed camper with no rear overhang. You will be fine and the dry weight is about 1/2 that of my 1181. You may actually regret not having enough weight in that beast. I do know. Read my earlier post on this thread. rickRe: Arctic Fox 1150 is breaking my 2016 Ford 350 dually jimh425 wrote: Camera Source sells cameras and a Ford connector like this one for about $200. https://camerasource.com/ford-super-duty-plug-play-camper-camera-kit-mini-universal-cam.html They sell other brands as well. Yes, that is why I have. I had connector matching issues and so they sent all 3 possibilities and I selected the one that worked and returned the others. Great support. Here's a good video an info for a ram 5500 flatbed. About half price of a Douglas body, so he says. https://www.stablecamper.com/truck-beds Yeah, steel. I agree with you that the aluminum is the issue, not so much the weight of the camper if that weren't the case. NO the aluminum bed is NOT the issue. I have had both. The 2004 steel bed was much worse. As I indicate in my earlier posts, the horse stall mats and Torklift tie downs have made bed damage in my aluminum bed a non-issue. My aluminum bed still looks new after 15k miles on the new setup. RickRe: Arctic Fox 1150 is breaking my 2016 Ford 350 duallyTo make things clearer, here are photos of my damaged bed in the F350 that I had previously: Depression in the side of the bed at the rear Plywood that sort of helped Crack in rear sheet metal below tailgate caused by buckling Update. I have horse stall mats in my aluminum bed. I am sure that is making a difference when I see your damage. RickRe: Arctic Fox 1150 is breaking my 2016 Ford 350 duallyMy 2004 f350 did that. All the weight of the camper is on the two side rails. The space on the bottom of the camper in between is not weight bearing. The truck bed was not designed to handle that long linear twin load and as a result in buckles up in the middle. Plywood helped fix my problem but it was not a perfect solution. My 2019 F350 seems to handle that weight a little better, perhaps by design... RickRe: It’s been a good run6v Golf cart batts have performed so superior to 12v whatever. I can't imagine any other way now. The deep discharge capability is non-destructive on purpose. Rick
