Not a problem outside. The bunk above bike storage may be used tike to time while in transit. I suppose if it smells , the old skool bike could be transported in the bed of the truck..Toy hauler basic questionsHey all, thanks for any suggestions. Just bought a 2414 genesis vortex. Been an rv 'er 25+ years, had a toy hauler 5'er 20 yrs ago, most recent rv is a class c thor 23u. Hung a dual sport off the back..so some things I forgot. Questions: 1. What do you use under bikes for gas drips from carb bikes? I don't want it getting on the linoleum and smell sticking around. Bikes don't usually leak, but may. Fuel injected bikes I don't have issues. 2. What do you suggest for mats on floor? Ideally I'd like a welcome mat type thing, something easy to roll out, roll up 3. Toyhauler has d rings in floor. Looking to get a boltiton.com or niceracks.com solution to carry 3 bikes, 2 between the kitchen and passenger wall. Any thoughts on how well these work, how to hold back end down of bikes? 4. Storage- to store clothes in the bed area there's a shelf at the front, curved from ceiling. I'm thinking a cargo net type deal could hold some stuff, anyone have a neat solution for this? Not sharp hooks for example? 5. On occasion we will likely sleep with bikes in back while in transit. Have experience with this? Gas fume danger? Thanks CbRe: Recommend Good E-450 Dash AC Repair, SoCalFullerton Ford. Straight people. Wax, polish, comes with own tools!Re: We've come full circle back to a "C"Good for you! Opted for the 23u model with the barrel chair and larger cargo hold. Replaced the corner bed mattress with a memory foam piece from walmart (thanks Ron for the tip) Had em all too, pop up camper on a diesel 4x4, trailer, 5th wheel, 40 ft diesel toyhauler.. we are riders (especially me) The small c is just so flexible. I can tow a jeep, hang a dual sport of back of it for long trips with family, carry a bike up front for ride trips with the boy, or just 1 bike off back reinforced hitch rack for me riding alone or with friends, Carries our stout inflatable kayaks as well. We took it to Alaska for 2 months and change. Surprised how stout this is. Nothing broke of any consequence except a ba house battery after all those bad roads, mud, dust, dirt, pot holes, rain. Prior to this trip I had a low impression of its quality. Nope, quality is there where you need it. Very convenient size. Occasionally think about going to a larger size but no, this is so convenient and flaxible. Good luckRe: 2006 Ford E450 Transmission issueNo idea what a transmission fan is. U mean engine fan?Re: Towing 4-wheels down.....braking required for vehicle?Perhaps best to visualize the situation as a series of speed bumps going around a corner or even around corner up or down hill. Either way, better to have towed brakes than not. Good luck with your purchase, Cb
