When I went to move it water trickled out from under the dashboard on to the floor mats. There is no insurance on the truck. The policy expired and I could neither renew nor cancel it. Only basic liability coverage on the property too. Insurance rates were bankrupting my folks, and they had everything pared down to the bare minimum and still paying $2000 a year on the property. The windshield is likely leaking on the truck. I had that happen before.Re: New tow vehicle after 3 years of hard workGreat job ! That is a nice ride.Re: Towing mileage/capability Grit dog wrote: And I’ve never seen a 95 “1500HD”. I’d go as far as saying they don’t exist. While icbw, that designation and the corresponding heavier chassis with the 1500hd badging didn’t start until the gmt800 models. My 98 1500 had the Heavy Duty chassis package. This consisted of a 14 bolt semi floating rear differential, bigger rear brakes and an extra rear leaf spring. This upped the GVWR from the standard 6,200 to 6,600. I think this was available in 95 as well. The truck was not called a 1500HD though.Re: Mystery Battery Draw While Parked UPDATEBack when my brother had his 03 Silverado he had a similar issue and the dealer eventually found that it was the instrument cluster and once they replaced it the problem was solved. Not saying that is the problem with yours, but it is a possibility.Re: 2020 chevy trail boss Grit dog wrote: enblethen wrote: I recently saw an article indicating 5.3 engines have a lifter issue. There is suppose to be a service bulletin on the issue. Free repairs! And the 6.2s apparently, from doing some light reading on why my truck might have pooped the bed yesterday... My coworkers 2021 5.3 just came back from the dealer with the same issue and had all the lifters replaced. His dash lights all lit up like a Christmas tree as well.Re: Truck not getting fuelThanks for everyone's input. Huge relief that I was able to figure it out.Re: Truck not getting fuelNew UPDATE. I found the problem ! Truck did not start when I got home so I pulled the harness connector that goes to the coil packs on the drivers side. I hooked a test light to the positive side of the battery and tested the ground in the connector and the light was dim so I jiggled the ground wire near the power steering pump and the light was bright. Truck started right up and while it was running I jiggled the wire and the truck died. I confirmed it several times. I could move the wire and it would start and if I moved it again it would die. Bottom line is it is a partially broken ground wire.Re: Truck not getting fuel enblethen wrote: Camshaft position sensor. Both camshaft and crankshaft sensor should throw a code. I am still thinking oil pressure sending unit. When first turning key on pump is powered for 10-15 seconds through the fuel pump relay. Then if oil pressure is present power to the pump is through oil pressure sending unit. I am no longer having fuel issues though. The fuel pump is working and I have fuel pressure, but now I have intermittent no spark. I have been reading about bad grounds for the coil packs that are supposed to be a common issue. The trouble is that now the truck starts fine, but I won't drive it this way. Would the oil pressure switch affect spark ?Re: Truck not getting fuelWould a crankshaft position sensor cause this even if the check engine light is not on ?Re: Truck not getting fuelUPDATE. I thought I had this truck fixed and the fuel issue is, however it died again ! Fuel pressure is good so I went to check spark. I unplugged a wire and put a spark plug in the wire so I could check. I held it to the exhaust manifold and had my wife cranking it over. At first there was no spark and then there were a couple sparks and the truck started and has been running for half an hour. I wish it would not have started ! I am now thinking I have a ground issue for the coils, but unsure and I will not drive this until I know I found a problem. Any suggestions ? I don't like giving up, but am at the point of having a shop look at it, but how are they going to diagnose it when it actually runs at the time ? I put 300 miles on since replacing the pump and not one issue until today.
