I'm happy to report I found a Canadian rv hauler - Transport KMC - that could bring it across the border and drop it off outside our home, where it sits now. We're getting everything cleaned and organized and next week it'll go into storage for the winter. I wish all y'all a wonderful winter and the best of health, IanMoving a 5th wheel from Florida to New York StateI'm hoping the members here will have some thoughts or suggestions. Every year my wife, Darlene, and I spend our winter on Sanibel. Last January she was diagnosed with a aggressive malignant brain tumour. As we're Canadians our insurance wouldn't cover the operation needed in Fort Myers but they did send an air ambulance for us. She's had the operation and gone through radiation and chemo. We were lucky enough to get accepted into a stage 3 trial of a new chemo drug so she's still on chemo and will be for another fourteen months. Friends in the park packed cup our 5th wheel and I arranged to store it- under cover with an electrical hookup. A former student jumped at the chance to drive our F250 home and so I thought all was well. As soon as Darlene was stable I'd drive back down to Cape Coral where it's stored and bring it back to Canada. And then along came COVID. So now I have the trailer in Florida, the truck in my driveway and the border is closed. And we won't be able to travel for a year. Here's where the suggestions and advice come in. I'd like to find a way to get the trailer moved from Cape Coral to Hector in the Finger Lakes where friends have a place we can store it. If anyone has thoughts, advice or suggestions I'd love to hear them. I am at a loss. And to complicate matters a little more, it has a Pullrite hitch. Many thanks and God bless in these crazy times. IanRe: Parking on a slopeGrit dog, you got me! I have a steep driveway and it seemed to me that a 30-60-90 triangle would lie nicely along the hypotenuse with the other long side being level. This discussion has told me two things: I don't need to worry about the fridge 'cause it's off and I need to learn a lot more about the difference between 30º and a 30% grade. Thanks for everyone's responses! IanParking on a slopeThis seems to me to be one of those questions that gets asked a hundred times but I can't find a thread. We all know that it's important to level our trailers when parked so as not to damage the fridge. But how about if the fridge is not on? I'd like to park our 5ver in our driveway for a few days before we head south. It's got an almost 30º slope. It would stay hitched to our F250 and the wheels would be chocked so I'm not concerned about roll back, but would we risk damaging anything else? Many thanks IanRe: Canadian TV in FloridaI want to send a HUGE "Thank You" to all of you who voiced your ideas. I love the idea of recording the games and then watching them after they've started but I'll need an unlimited data plan for that one. (My park has no wifi at all.) I'll also investigate Shaw Direct - that may be a more cost effective option in the end.Re: Canadian TV in FloridaThank you both! At this point, al I have is Bell Fibre which is also expensive. My neighbour in Florida had Shaw so I thought I'd look at that. I can stream but I only have a 10gb/month account, and a couple of hockey games would gobble that up quickly! Mike, I like your idea about address spoofing and I think I know someone who can set that up for me. Many thanks!Canadian TV in FloridaAfter another winter without cdn hockey on tv I'd really like to find a solution! I thought I had it with Shaw Direct but now I gather it's not going to be possible to get satellite coverage in the near future. Perhaps someone can set me straight on this? Many thanks! Go Leafs G ............ oh IanLeather reclinersI'm looking to buy 2 (real) leather recliners for our fifth wheel. I don't know the good, reputable manufacturers. If anyone has suggestions either for brands or for retail, I'd appreciate hearing about them. With thanks,Re: Suburban SW10 DE water heater doesn't!Hah!Re: Suburban SW10 DE water heater doesn't!I would like to thank all y'all for your contributions. In the end it took three guys, twenty-six tools, and five hours on different days to take it apart, test everything, find nothing, change nothing, reassemble it twice and then discover after the second time that it now works. And this was not the three stooges! There was only one stooge - me. The others were an engineer and a RV technician. So, very frustrating, but we now have hot water, I have a happy wife and hence .....
