After I read this recall thread, I checked the Dometic site, typed in the Model # and the Serial #. It said that my unit is affected!!!! It is NEW. What gives. I will phone them and check it out. Dealer probably switched with a used unit, they tend to do things like that.:ERe: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07 timsrv wrote: Make sure it's plugged in and it's 120v outlet has power going to it. There are also a couple of fuses under the circuit board cover. If the 120v fuse is blown, or the outlet is dead, the refer will act exactly as you describe. If all these things check out, then it's most likely a faulty circuit board. Tim The boogers forgot to plug it in when they did the recall, oh well we cant all be perfect, especially RV tech's. :S After all they only get 40 minutes to do the recall and not plugging it back in saves some time.:BRe: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07I had the recall done on my fridge and the first time I went to use it on electric it's not working, it sounds as if it trying to use propane as it clicks a few times and then I get the CHECK light, I have the propane bottles turned off. Any ideas? could they have wired it wrong?:ERe: Post your tow vehicle pics here Re: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07Just had my kit installed on my fridge, in the install instructions on the kit contents it mentions a warranty card I didn't get one, anyone get one?Re: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07 timsrv wrote: I called another Dometic parts supplier today and asked about the thermal fuse. I was told by them that these were not being made available for purchase from Dometic, but would be included in the recall kits. This is 2nd hand info & not directly from Dometic, but I consider this person to be a reliable source. Tim Dometic rep droped by repair shop (autorized Dometic Dealer) also said thermal fuse would be included.
